Maybe now instead of talking about social media posts and media hot takes, we can talk about the things that really matter. Despite definite improvement in the last 5-6 weeks, this is still not a talented enough football team. Not having OBJ hurt today, but even worse, the OL took a step backwards, the team committed far too many dumb penalties, the tackling overall was horrible, and Eli never got into a rhythm.
Aside from the need to find the Eli succession plan (and I think he is back for one more year) the biggest “needs” going forward have to be.
- A dominant front seven player on D
- A real FS
- A Right Tackle
- Another WR who can win on the outside
- More pass rushers
OL, DL, etc etc This team cannot succeed when you rely on the health of Barkley and OBJ.
Good teams have the strength to continue to win when their star RB or WR are not playing. If you remove Barkley from this team, we have the worst offense in the league.
Other teams like Pitt, KC, LAC and others can still find a way to win games even when they have to plug in a backup.
You can blame Shurmur for a lot but he has nothing to do with the depth on this team that DG is just starting to build. This is not getting turned around in one year.
On both sides of the ball! Giants just did not look good today one iota.......nothing good about this game. Abysmal tackling, penalties, poor poor defense, getting blown off the ball, no physicality on defense, not setting the edge. CBs lousy tackling, run blocking horrendous, pass blocking suspect, QB poor passes, 2 critical turnovers, I could go on. Just horrible effort.
His game plans and play calling just suck Barkley runs all over the redskins and all of the sudden he is a good coach. No he is not until he is replaced this team is going nowhere.

They were still celebrating their Washington victory.
They thought they could throw their helmet on the field and the Titans would beg for mercy.
was the only one who made any plays while the game counted, although Fowler made a nice catch at the end when it was already over. Everybody else was awful, although Barkley had no chance most plays.

Got beat in the trenches all game long both sides
of the ball .
One bad turnover handed them seven but this team has no
Identity on Offense until they shore up the lines
were gonna struggle can't run the ball or even think about establishing it . Shumur is still a question mark to me .
Too many penalties . Our DT's were dominated as was
Vernon guy is a non factor other than a dumb penalty .
Eli made some good throw a few drops as well considering
the weather Cowboys got shutout 23-0
so there's that .

Plenty of well informed football people would strongly disagree.
Most people not associated with BBI have highly praised his playcalling this year. Especially in the last month. Today the problem was absolutely terrible execution, terrible OL pay, inconsistent QB play, and absolutely horrible tackling.
It’s hard to call a game when you are frequently behind the sticks and can’t flip the field with your defense or special teams. Giants has no answer for Henry today. Played right into the Titans gamelan. Run the ball, control the clock, hope the other team makes mistakes

Until we have a competent o-line and front 7 on D, then these kind of results are going to happen. There will be times that the individual brilliance of a Saquan or OBJ will force a win, but consistency can’t happen without dominance in the trenches. Not sure if that is a 1or 2 year process, but we are a long way away. I don’t think it is fair to put it on the QB it the Coach - and no they aren’t perfect. But it is years of reaching for the flash and not enough focus on the trenches.
...because that's all that matters after today's debacle against a mediocre team.
...the very best outcome is to play hard, play well and finish up 5 - 11.
...at home against a mediocre team with something still left to play for.
Did these rag pickers read too much of their own press after the Redskins game?
Come on John, catch that pass..
Giants wouldn’t have taken him.
His price tag just went up a few ticks.

Bad weather, but only when the Giants had the ball.

And when they stuff the run?
Unless you don’t consider Washington part of the division.

for trading into the 1st to select Lamar Jackson. Barkley and L-Jax with the first two picks would've been awesome.
Giants wouldn’t have taken him.
You never know. I know they had Hernandez in their sights...but damn, what could've been.
Dallas may have nothing to play for.
The Giants would not have selected Jackson even if he was still sitting there in the 3rd round.

It would be difficult to stuff the run with those 2 guys on the field and a very creative coaching staff (not Shurmur)...
Yeah, there is. Dallas probably isn't going to have anything to play for when they come in.
Giants are going to win that game and drop four draft spots.
They were still celebrating their Washington victory.
They thought they could throw their helmet on the field and the Titans would beg for mercy.
That's the quickest way to getting cold-cocked.

They don't have the Ravens line or their defense. Or Special teams. He's in a very good situation and still limits them.
Shepard has not been good for over a month.
Add lots of dropped passes too.
Yup same shitty coach he was in Cleveland
Don't count on it.

OL “play”
But I think the Coach and GM get that.
That this team lacks talent? Minus one RB and one WR? I hope we all realize that
