I see a lot of opinions about Eli Manning on the game thread, but if anything I think this shows that the defense is the teams biggest weakness.
- Can barely rush a capable passer
- Putrid tackling
- coverage is always questionable against capable passers and receivers

It’s east to blame the QB, and I agree his time is near an end. But in this upcoming draft and FA, I would be looking at completely retooling the defense.
I am sick of wasting Barkley!

This defense is just too easy to fool though. Here’s a question: who is the defense’s best player? Ogletree? That’s sad.
I don't think the team has the resources to do everything.

If they have a conviction about one of the qb's who's available, they have to go for him. Otherwise, the priority should be to pick up a center and a right tackle who can both pass and run block. The next priority should be to shore up the defense.

I agree but if early indications are that this crop of QBs coming up are not great, I’d rather wait for a better prospect. Continue to build in the trenches.

The defense kept the team in the game until the facemask on the goaline which was a one finger facemask. That said the poor tackling by our defense with the worst being the secondary has been an issue for years. The scouts need to find tougher players period and getting a better pass rush is a huge need.

call out OV for crashing inside/losing containment, Jackrabbit for making business decisions and the myriad of arm tackling going on?

I'm guessing NO because it's been happening this entire season.

Is that on the players or on the coaches?

When was the last time a Giants defense actually disrupted a capable offense? I’m not talking about Mark Sanchez-led Washington or Chase Daniels-led Bears. The defense just doesn’t stop capable offenses, and you can’t make the playoffs that way.

They were out of it when Eli first threw one of his ridiculous interceptions, and then fumbled as he switched hands while being sacked.

If they did not call that facemask penalty, the chip shot field goal would have still made it 10-0, and the Giants were not coming back from 2 scores behind.

But, the front 7are horrible. No pressure up front and zero containment. Any QB with modest mobility has all day to find open receivers. Linebackers are vulnerable in the middle and can’t support the run defense.

this draft is ripe with promising d-lineman. Start there.

If they can rush the passer, magically the secondary will play better. That said we need an upgrade at FS. Maybe one of the young guys is that upgrade

point it's hardly your defenses fault. They may not have had their best game today but this was clearly on the offense.
Are you saying the defense wasn’t a majot issue today?

The reason the Titans only scored 17 is because they were content with simply running the ball and controlling thw clock.

Based on play this year, I'd say the best has been BJ Hill.
That’s still saying something.

No D played a part on this loss for sure but Giants O couldn't run or pass. Drops, interception, fumble, bad passes, couldn't block. Titans did what they had to do in this weather on O. Giants O couldn't. They were pathetic.

And I already said O line high would be a good choice in the draft too. I think the offense has put it together more recently than the D, this game notwithstanding. It will look better when OBJ returns as well. The defense however, doesn’t seem to put together a dominating performance when it matters. The first half vs New Orleans and the Texans game were probably their best games against decent QBs.
Even games we won because of the offense, like TB and Chicago, became

Did the offense give up 215 yards rushing on a day where you knew you HAD to run the ball!!!!! Total team loss...
