When the weather gets bad in November and December, we need a team that possesses a good running game and can play hard defense. We haven't seen that since the Super Bowl 42 run. Hopefully, our new GM realizes just that.
Is on his way to building that defense, his draft this season was spectacular, only a dummy wouldn't see that, or the people that insist he was another of more of the same. He turned over this roster, got all the malcontents out of here. There is only one decision that he needs to make to be very successful here. Get the replacement for Eli in here and do it this off season, enough with Eli, I love him and all he did, he is a Hall of famer in my book. But he stinks now. I would love Foles here, and he would fit in perfect. If they decide to draft a QB then that is okay also, Haskins could be a perfect fit here also, big, strong, good arm, has mobility. If the Giants do another Eli year without drafting his replacement, they are fucking morons.

until the FO fixes the line. Giants are wasting their offensive weapons and the last serviceable years of a franchise QB. Its hard to tell if he coaching staff is any good because the Lines are sub par. The Offensive Line is outright awful. The defensive line is below average and the back seven is allergic to tackling. Without Collins the secondary is only capable of pushing a guy out of bounds or gang tackling a player who has already lost his balance. I don't expect wins, but, tackling I expect from NFL defensive players. Yesterday was just another poor tackling show like several games this year. The are more to prospects than measurables. Why did the Giants FO collect a group of non tackling players?
The Giants got their ass kicked yesterday because they couldn't tackle at the LBer and safety positions. If you want a stout, tackling focused line that relies on the front four to make tackles, this isn't your coordinator.
Gettleman, agree with it or not, traded the two best run stopping D lineman on the team in Snacks and JPP.
The Giants are looking to stop the run by different means.

Then he took Hernandez.....he started off slow, but each week, he seems to be getting better....but once again, the second pick in the second round.....I will give him that....
After that, what is spectacular? Hill had 3 sacks in one game....his only tackles....did nothing the next two games....those games happen....remember Donnell's game? He was going to be all world, too...Remember Jernigan's game?
Carter, Lauletta, McIntosh? Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....Beal? A guy with shoulder problems....

Some, like Tomlinson are playing their 3rd position technically in 2 yrs. This will take time. But some people relish spreading doom and glood (thus the handle) like its candy.

Instead the warm weather Titans come up north and smash us to pieces.

Further, Eli has always been best when using play action...again another point Trent Green made yesterday...because when you keep pounding the ball even if it doesn't get you big yardage, it forces the D to respect it and then you can use play action.
If we can see this, how can a guy being paid millions not realize this is how you play ball in December in the Northeast? I put Shurmur in the category of so many OCs who become Head Coaches. There are a limited number of free agents available who are worth signing and it all has to fit within a budget. Not to mention that the free agents have to WANT to come here. This game was very similar to SF championship game. Clawfin patiently waited for SF to make the first mistake to lose. Shurmurs throwing scissor patterns 20 yds down field in a monsoon to 5th string receivers on 3rd and 20 and in field goal range down by 7 ffs.
It just takes time to build that from the nothingness that he inherited.
