This is not a bashing thread.
I've felt that most of this year Eli looks "different" when being interviewed by the press. I don't know if I'm just way off on this, or does look aged, or worn out, or something else. Even after a win, he doesn't seem as "chipper" (for lack of a better word).
Or am I way off on this?
I think he is just tired of losing and not playing to the level he has. Even if he thinks he still has it, he has to look around and figure he doesnt have the horses to run with.
I feel stressed when I've disappointed even one person in life or at work. Imagine an entire city?
Not to mention, he juggles a personal life with kids and a wife. It's a lot.
By that, I mean, he has to carry the team, because everyone else makes too many mistakes...dropped passes, stupid penalties, missed assignments, defenses that can't hold leads, etc.
He is not allowed to make mistakes if this team is going to win....but he is nowhere near that guy of 2011....7 years of playing behind terrible OL's have taken their toll on him.....
That, and Father Time.....

...he doesn't have the horses to run with."
Huh???
You almost make it sound as though Eli would be good enough to win a third Super Bowl if only he had the proper supporting cast.
dep026... your devotion to Eli is both admirable and a little depressing.
...he does indeed look old.
And I'm hoping that what you're seeing is a man who's gonna hang 'em up at the end of this season.

Shouldnt every QB have a proper supporting cast or only select QBs allowed to have them?
Once you hit your late 30's it's tough to hide it.
I think this is what losing does, especially to veterans. It is tough to deal with losing...even just for one year...let alone six of the last seven...no playoffs, nothing to look forward to in terms of football.
I think that is one of the biggest questions Eli has to answer. Do I still have the enthusiasm to play for this team and there are no guarantees things will be any better. To me, Eli is relatively healthy for as long as he has played and maybe it is just time to go...spend it with your kids and wife. All aging vets go through this...difference is the current ones like Brady, Brees, Rivers and Big Ben are still on winning teams and that makes it a lot easier.
So 2 players is enough to contend with? Really?
It is completely unforgiveable and, to quote my wife, it hurts me in my heart.

Sorry dep026, but after yesterday's miserable Giants debacle, I'm in no mood to answer your rhetorical question.

I'll try not to ask you one that may cause you to think next time.
Might miss this guy when the next guy is a clown.

He’s got a top 5 WR and a top 5 RB.

Lol. Yeah. Aside from two top 5 players on a offense driven league. Nah. Maybe if we had a top 25 QB we’d look better.

Holy crap.......I think he's tired of losing - so maybe in his voice inflection shows that but they guy looks the same to me............
Pile on Eli day after a shutout loss.........
