I showed my kids rerun clips from some of those 70's sitcoms.

They were blown away by how BAD TV was back then. It is embarrassing - there were a few exceptions - All in the Family, MASH - but for the most part... Sanford and Son? Mork and Mindy? OOF.

We were really watching serious brain-numbing trash - lowest common denominator jokes.

But I frequently call my Sons 'Lenny and Squiggy' or 'Chaci' or 'Fonz' - had to give em' a reference point!

Raising a glass of milk and pepsi in her honor.

Loved Big and A League of their own.

Just recently I was watching reruns of the Odd Couple on Hulu and saw her playing Oscar's secretary Myrna - which I had completely forgotten about!

I also loved A League Of Their Own that she directed, great movie.

And in person, super, naturally funny. I'll miss her.

And Oscar Madison's favorite secretary.

(By when it was initially made, not when it aired. Her episode, with the Babysitter Bandit, was originally going to be the series premiere, but the animation was a disaster and it got heavily redone and pushed back to the season finale).

Been introducing my 13 yo daughter to the sitcoms of the 70's. and 80's. Laverne and Shirley is one of her favorites. We'll be watching some re-runs later.

Mad Mike, interesting. Are you involved in animation?

I know the first maybe 2-3 seasons of the Simpsons animation was done by Klasky Csupo and then they switched to Film Roman. You can see a difference.

I met a Mike (years ago) involved with the Simpsons! Was that you?
