I've read Beltran could be a future manger in the league, the Yankees wanted to interview him before hiring Boone but he turned them down. Glad he's back in the organization with the potential to groom him.

He felt he was not ready to manage. wanted some experience.
Mets signed Wilson Ramos and have a gimpy Cespedes on the DL..
Aaaand one of those teams made a statement today that they are set with right handed middle of the order bats while the other signed a Met icon who shares an agent with Manny Machado..

Ok then. Fun being a Mets fan.
You do realize Beltran isn't playing, right?
Also, you realize he already played for the Yankees too, right?
So you’re admitting your previous post was fucking stupidity?
Haha..umm actually the opposite...in saying the Yankees are considering signing Machado even with all the RH power they have and the Mets are done because they already have enough, according to BVW...

Lol of course I realize Beltran isn't playing and of course I know he played for the Yankees.. do you want to inform me next that Doc and Darryl played for the Yankees too??
Reports all over the place are that he's tight with Machado and has the same agent and this can only help a pursuit of Manny. Probably a Longshot but I'm just ripping on my Mets here a bit..
So you’re admitting your previous post was fucking stupidity?
Still trying to understand how you thought this post was some kind of admittance of something?? Would love to hear your logic that led to such a conclusion.
If I could edit my original post it would have said Yankees have Judge, Stanton, Torres, and Andujar...(yada yada yada) and are still pursuing Manny (could have put Bryce in there too but really just commenting on BVW's assertion that Ramos is all the "middle of the order" RH bat they needed)
the Yanks offering Manny 7yr/$195mil with opt out after 4 yrs.
If he balks sign Marwin Gonzalez. He can play multiple positions and is a switch hitter with some power. In fact even if they sign Manny I'd sign Marwin as well.

AAV for Manny will be north of 30M.
I doubt Gonzalez is plan B for NYY if no Machado - look towards the Reds Gennett involving a trade for Gray plus and moving Torres to SS.

Machado is going to get a more significant offer from NY than that. Minimum 8 years $240M. Likely more
Whoever signs Harper is not just signing Harper for 2019. He’s getting multiple years. Maybe as many as 10-12 years. Both Hicks and Gardner will be free agents next offseason, and, in two offseasons, Ellsbury will be a free agent and Stanton could opt out of his contract. It is possible if not likely the Yankees will be looking for two everyday outfielders in eleven months. No room for Harper? Please.
Harper has done things with a bat that only Mike Trout can. He doesn't do them consistently and that's an issue, but in an off year he's still a well above average offensive player. Machado's glove probably makes him a better all around player, but Harper's 2015 blows anything you have seen or likely will see from Machado out of the water, even if he's elite defensively. You also have the handedness issue.
That said, Judge and Stanton are corner outfielders. Harper is a corner outfielder. Not a bad trio to have rotating between LF, RF and DH, but it is hardly ideal.

Bryce Harper and the fallacy of having too many outfielders - ( New Window )
