K Aldrick Rosas -- December 19, 2018

Q: How does it feel being named to the Pro Bowl?
A: I don’t know how to describe it – shocking, just to get that support and votes from my peers and the fans, and everybody in the building, this organization just being behind me. It’s real special.

It’s a long way from last year.
A: One would say that for sure. We’ve just been kind of in the special teams room, me, (LS) Zak (DeOssie), and (P) Riley (Dixon), and the coaches just taking it one day at a time, one practice at a time, one game at a time. Just controlling what we can control, and putting our best effort out there to contribute to getting some wins.

Q: Your future didn’t look good here coming into this season. How did you turn it around?
A: Just taking it day-by-day. Just being blessed and grateful to show up and be able to work, and work with these guys and build chemistry, and have fun with it. Just keeping the mental aspect clear and clean, and going out there and putting your best foot forward.

Q: Was this ever a goal for you?
A: Given last year, just to be in the conversation this year was real special to me. All the credit to the snapper and the holder. These guys come in and work their tale off, and we have a lot of fun doing it.

Q: Who’s the snapper again? (laughter)
A: (LS) Zak (DeOssie). The oldest guy in the NFL (laughter).

Q: (inaudible)
A: No, I’ve been trying to keep it all out. Maybe towards the end of the season, kind of now, maybe, looking at some stuff. I kind of wanted to wait and just kind of put my head down and grind every day. When we get to the end of the season, just kind of reflect back on every game and every moment, and kind of see where I was.

Q: Coach Shurmur had mentioned that you’re just not a kicker, but a football player as well. What do you think he means by that?
A: I don’t know, I guess just I’m a football player. My teammates have my support on and off the field. On the field, whatever I got to do to help the team win games, and be my brother’s keeper, and stuff like that. We have a real special bond out there in the whole special teams room. It’s really fun.

Q: At a time like this, do you reflect on your time as an NAIA college athlete, to your rookie year, to making the Pro Bowl?
A: Yeah, it’s starting to kind of hit now in these last couple of hours, and even last night. Just how, NAIA and small high school, just to last year, to kind of now. The story is still kind of getting written. When you’re around a great group of guys, a great organization, great fans, it’s just a huge blessing.

Aldrick Rosas is the best kicker in the NFC.
A: Yeah, that’s cool, that’s amazing. I really don’t have any words for it.

Q: When you got together with (former Giants kicker) Jon Carney this offseason and started training, how much of that was a mental thing for you? How much of a physical thing is it for you?
A: I think it was a little bit of both, but mostly the mental aspect of it. I could sit down with Carney, who actually played here and I think went to the Pro Bowl here. Just to sit down with him and talk about every little situation. It was great just to sit down with him and really pick his brain about everything and all the situations that happened. I really learned a lot.
