Playcalling at the End

I didn’t get to see most of the game. I’m not one of those who is down on Shurmur even the play calling. I’m sure this was discussed as to why they didn’t run the ball with Barkley when you were near midfield with 2 time outs. Was Barkley the intended receiver but was covered & Eli checked off ? Was he in the game & was he just blocking? I don’t understand how Barkley was not the primary person to get the ball given his ability to break tackles. What’s bizarre is, as much as I hate the Cowboys, I wanted the better draft position. Just figure out the thinking at the end.

That said, however, Shurmur has shown a penchant to not be very good in these types of situations so it is hard to judge but calling four passes (admittedly there was a huge hold, not called, on Latimer) and not going to either Shepard or Barkley raises question marks.

I think Shurmur said Barkley was in the passing sequence and Shepard was thrown to in this series
