But if u live a shady or known high crime spot... Wouldnt blame my man... Sure you & ur fam are very good people, but "fool me once..." is def understandable.
JJ Grey and Mofro are playing down the street in a podunk bar called the Buckingham bar which is a mile north of my property. Everyone on the road has acreage and all are gated. It's 600' back to my house. I was the only gate open for a long ways. My nephew had to walk down and talk him into coming in to get his gf. We have damn near a zero crime rate.
So I don't know that I should be happy that we have the reputation of taking care of ours or not.

Ft. Myers has quite a bit of crime.
Why do you want to shame the driver for being safe? Â
Or did you just want to talk about how safe your property is with BBI?
What's safe? Downtown Manhatten? We know thats a lie.
What's your point? If an Uber didn't show up within 3 blocks of your hotel no matter where would you just say oh well, we'll walk.
I don't think so.
Wait so a dark 600ft stretch of gated animal preserve with well armed Floridians is SAFER than downtown Manhattan? Seriously? You could shoot dude, toss him to the tigers, and bury him in your swamp before anyone knew shit. Not so easy in mid town there pal.
if you consider a 600 ft walk in light rain “suffering” than I don’t know what to tell you.
Their job isn’t to drive you to your doorstep. If they do, great, if the only want to go to your driveway, so be it. Suck it up and walk down your driveway.

Hah. Apparently are cops are much more trained that yours are. Yes I have relatives who are NYPD. Yes, everyone has a gator pond in their back yard just as everyone in Va. shoots deer out their back window.
uses Uber often and he had a good rating that would be enough for door to door service and driving up a long driveway. I've never used Uber but have friends who drive for extra money and they always talk about the feedback so I don't see why the driver had an issue as long as your nephew had no red flags?

He does't and tips good. Had a DUI years ago, like 22, and drives for a living. Will not drive if he's smelling a drink.

looking out for his safety. Just because you don’t understand why anyone would attack him because he doesn’t carry cash doesn’t mean he should assume he is safe everywhere.
I think most people would feel safer in front of a hotel in Manhattan than driving down a long driveway in rural Florida.
downtown Manhattan than just about anywhere. It’s incredibly safe. I had an Uber driver take me back to a friends place after a wedding and he had a windy private road that wasn’t lit. I was shocked the Uber driver kept going. I would have been fine with him kicking me out which he eventually did with 100 feet to go. I put my phone flashlight on and found the house, you know, like anyone can do.
I would cancel on your rich entitled ass too. I had the same situation tonight in Morris county. Pulled up to a multi million dollar house. Rider takes all five minutes of the wait time then calls me and wants me to pull in the driveway. Against my better judgement i did. Take his rich entitled ass on a minimum fare ride. Drop him right in front of his rich friends door. Guess what.....no fing tip.

driveway is well lit. That's the funny part. I could understand if it wasn't a pretty much a straight shot with everyone waving that this is it with my nephew walking out to the road to finally get him.

Ordered on his phone? He didn't get to pick whos's picking him up. Actually Uber sent him driver from where they were going which was close.
He is probably thinking why should I risk my life for 12 bucks an hour. Lots of people have irrational fears. After 911, Idaho had the most calls about spotting terrorists to the FBI per capital. Twin towers were just a ruse, the real target is the dollar store in Boise.
And Uber gives you the opportunity to rate him poorly
And did you consider the liability to the driver Â
If something happened while on your property? What happens if the rider falsely accuses the driver of hitting something? It happens every day and uber always sides with the rider. There are plenty of reasons why the driver cancelled.

I guess I'm in the minority. I drove for Uber this last summer so I'm sympathetic to drivers, however it sounds like this driver is being a lazy dick. If he perceived the neighborhood as being unsafe he was under no obligation to accept the ride. What if a driver is being asked to pick up someone who's mobility is impaired ? Asking a driver to come up to the doorstep is a perfectly reasonable request .

I had that happen to me last week. Pulled up and a 50 something lady tells me she can't walk and needs help getting in the car. I'm sorry but I'm not laying hands on anyone. Uber isn't an ambulatory carrier. There are services for that and it's not Uber.

I don't blame him and actually relieved looking at it from that stand point.
My problem is that the Uber is prepaid and taken from an account that my nephew uses constantly. Just saturday from a wedding, Thanks god.
What was anyone going to get from him? Especially in an area of high end properties?
