not sure if people want a thread for this or if it will be me talking to myself.
I'm not a big fan of going to the outdoor games (having been to the Fenway winter classic) mostly because the actual site lines suck.
Not sure how the ND viewing will be, but I do like watching them on TV.
I read they were struggling to sell tickets because a) I guess ND isn't close enough to a major city, b) school is on break, c) tickets were crazy expensive d) weather is unpredictable and could be really cold and e) it's an 80,000 seat stadium, but it looks pretty crowded
Bruins vs Blackhawks in ugly throwback jerseys ready for puck drop.
crowd seemed to love it.
As you mentioned pj, tickets were ridiculous and it was a Buffalo “home” game. I got 4 tix and with the service charges came out to about $200 each and I sat right behind home plate about 4 rows from the top.
It was an experience that I will never forget, but will not do again!

I thought I had great seats at Fenway. Lower level maybe 10 rows off the field, but I (and tons of other people) didn't consider the boards, etc. and they got a little foggy and it was hard to see.
Upper deck, which is small at Fenway to begin with, were the best seats, and I guess some people figured that out, but I didn't until too late.
Also, like for you figgy, the game at Fenway was sub-zero. My beer was freezing. my hand was shaking while I was drinking it.
I'm glad I went, because the atmosphere was electric, but the hockey viewing and being subjected to that weather sucked and I was offered tickets to the Bruins Habs winter classic a few years later at Gillette and turned them down. Wish I went in retrospect, lol, but only because the habs won.

Now I know last years weather was an anomaly, but I have never been more cold at a sporting event in my life. This coming from someone who has been to over 80 home Giants games.

I had never been at a sporting event where the beer was actually freezing!! I couldn't feel my toes after the 2nd period and I felt most for the poor band they kept trotting out during breaks! We still joke about the "hot" chocolate. It was cold water with a packet of cocoa mix not even stirred in or dissolved for $5.
But my buddy and I took our daughter's and made a weekend of it in the city and had a blast.

Happened to my wife and I, January 2008, in Green Bay. Bought a beer at halftime... by the time i got to my seat, it was frozen solid. Still can't believe Tynes hit a 47 yarder in that.
Top 4 teams in the Metro are either 8-2 or 7-2-1 in their last 10 games. It's nuts

It looks like a 9 team race for 8 playoff spots in the east. I see Buffalo, Montreal, Boston (given injuries) and Columbus (in order of likelihood) as teams that Isles could "catch."
I use "catch" in quotes because on a points earned per game basis the Isles are already ahead of Montreal, Buffalo and Boston.
Nashville seems like a good choice. Very engaged fanbase given the team's recent success and close enough that it's reasonable travel.

I'd like to see NSH in that game, hope they don't pick Vegas just for the newness or force an original 6 team.
I am not the biggest fan of hockey in non-traditional hockey markets, but Dallas vs Nashville at the cotton bowl on New year's day seems fun.
As long as PK Subban is still with Nashville. It loses some star (no pun intended) appeal without him and I'd get some other team if Subban is not a Predator, just not Chicago. please not Chicago.
