But they are better than a lot on here are giving them credit for. They had 1 horrible loss like most teams, the first game of the season. After that their two losses were to Oklahoma in the Big 12 championship (after beating OU earlier), and a 1 pt loss to then #13 West Virginia in a game where they were ahead by 7 with less than 1 minute to go.
OU played tough against Bama, and now UT is ahead of Georgia. The Big 12 looks under rated.
To Colorado. Not an excuse for their play tonight but there is something to be said for continuity IMO. He had them playing well and Kirby has to get them back to that.
Texas really keying on Swift so far too. Totally shutting him down so far.
Losses were to OU and WVU (by 1 pt after leading by 7 with less than a minute to play). They also beat OU once, which was their only loss until Bama.
Lost to Maryland too...
Yep in their 1st game. That was the one bad loss almost every team has. After that they were very good
Also lost to OK St who wasn't very good this year, you literally never know which Texas is going to show up.
I forgot about that one. The issue there was their starting veteran cornerbacks were suspended for the 1st half of the game (or the 1st quarter, I can't remember which). Anyway OSU threw all over them and scored a bunch of pts during that time. When they came back in, UT started stopping OSU and ended up coming back to only lose by 3.
Kudos to Texas and it's not taking away anything from how well they're playing but this isn't the same Georgia team I've seen play all year.
Totally uninspired and playing like they don't even want to be there. I guess losing the SEC Champ game really did them in. I expected them to come out with a chip on their shoulders and pissed off about not making the Playoff but it's been the opposite.
Still plenty of time but Texas is sure playing better and like they want it way more.
Kid is a see-saw. When he's good, he's really good. When he's bad...yikes.
Agreed. I've seen him play really well this year and make plenty of plays but tonight he's off. He's missed a couple tonight I haven't seen him miss all year.
Texas chewing up time with long drives. The UT QB is one tough SOB. OU hung in there with Bama too
I agree with you about the Texas QB but not OU. They got curb stomped in the first quarter and once up 28-0 it sure looked like Bama took their foot off the gas.
OU came back to make the score respectable but the game was over early and then it was more like garbage time points to me than hanging tough. I never once felt like they were in the game and tome Bama did what they wanted, whenever they wanted.
Trash tonight. Missing wide open receivers when he was billed as an accurate qb, weak arm strength, very poor decision making are all quite apparent tonight. Definitely threw that first rd top qb idea right out the window.

I find it incredibly lame that Gatorade jugs now have an extra set of handles to make it easier to dump on the coaches.
The days of Harry Carson dressing up as a stadium control person, sneaking around and only dousing the coach after a championship are over. Now it's just sanitized, corporate Bullshit.
Case in point LSU showering Orgeron during a conference game against TAM in a game they ended up losing. We ruin everything.
Missed a few long throws that could have made a world of difference in this game. And the misses were bad.
He’s a first round talent to me based on all the UGA games I watched. But not sure posters should keep using his name and others alike as the reason the 2020 QB class is “loaded” so we should wait.

I catch a potion of almost every Georgia game since they are always televised. So I come at this with a full view of Fromm. I’m not using this one game to be the deal breaker. Maybe it was just a bad night. Maybe there was too much rust from the lay-off he couldn’t shake. Maybe Todd Orlando just has a great game plan that kept Fromm off balance from the start.
To me, he’s always looked the player who was just perfectly suited for just the college game. He’s had some great games in some key moments.
But what exactly are the great attributes from a metrics/skills standpoint that blow you away? What of his current skills are going to convey to the pros to make him a top tier player?
He doesn’t have great size, but he’s not too short. His arm looks okay, but he’s not Aaron Rodgers. He’s a little nimble, but he’s not Russ Wilson. He looks like a tough kid, but he doesn’t shed tacklers like Roeth. He seems reasonably bright, but will he be able to process information quickly like a Brees or Brady.
To me, there aren’t a lot of great answers here. So there is no way I touch this guy in the first round, let alone a high pick. I see him as a solid second or third round candidate who will need the right system and coach. That’s not a bad thing, but it doesn’t make him this prized prospect...
He is very accurate. He spreads the ball around a ton showing vision of field and patience. He has a nice long ball as well. I have seen him take a lot of hits in the fairly tough SEC and he seems to get up from them. Last season he was a bit more of a game manager but this year he showed nice production from the pocket.
There are games where Fromm looks good and makes plays. And I get the second year thing. It’s a fair point.
But they don’t run a high volume passing attack down in Athens because they typically run the ball very well and dominate the LOS. So that is quite a luxury, along with their usual gifted, athletic defense. I think a lot of QBs could fair well in that system.
Like I said, an excellent college QB. But I just don’t see the wow factors - yet.

So you take the best player with each attribute you describe and say Fromm doesn't do that; Rodgers arm, Roeths size/strength, Wilson's running, etc. When you find that QB with all those attributes, let me know.
I will agree he was not sharp last night, but he still does most things very well.

Which is exactly why a lot of people are saying “hey you can’t bank on the 2020 class”.

In my life I don't think I've ever read so many excuses spanning multiple posts for a four loss team in my life. If... but... so close... blah blah blah
People will talk about Georgia not caring to be there last night and how they should have been in the playoff - reality is it was a three loss team who's only win all year over a top 20 opponent was Florida on a neutral field
Will now crawl back into their caves and choke on some of the same BS they have been spewing since ND lost to Clemson. If Georgia deserved to be in the playoffs, they would have come out and dominated Texas. If any team deserves to complain about not being included, it is OSU.
Looking forward to Sept when ND travels to Georgia

He can make all the throws, is very accurate, goes through his reads, and has poise in the pocket. He doesn’t have to run to find an open receiver.
Last night doesn’t change anything. The entire team no showed.
Fromm is the perfect fit for a traditional pro offense that’s big on play action. He’d be a great fit for the Giants given their scheme and talent. I hope the rest of the league feels the same way you do heading into the 2020 draft.
I have NEVER seen him play like that. In fact, I haven't seen Georgia play like that all year. They dialed it down to about 50%. Swift's fumbles... Kicker issues.... Defense porous.... Blankenship nearly missed a point after! Just a bad night for UGA all around.
Fromm is the best college QB, but not in this game.

I know most of you have likely seen this, but it just cracks me up Â
Herman has team going in right direction. He has changed the culture down in Austin. Recruiting in Texas has just been turned up a notch between A&M and UT going forward.
I'm a UGA fan and have watched every game since the 90s. Fromm is a very good college QB but I don't see his talent transferring to the NFL. I see him more in a back up roll

They mailed it in after SEC Championship game. Everyone sees that and it’s a shame. UGA was also missing its DC, best run stopping DT, best CB,and best Edge rusher .

Auburn? Not a top 25 team.
Kentucky - 9-3, including a 24-7 loss to lowly Tennesee. OOC games: C Michigan, Murray St, Louisville (2-10) and Mid Tennesee.
It was a soft as swiss cheese schedule for the Georgia Bulldogs this year and they still went just 11-3 with it, with one (Florida)... maybe two if I'm generous and I include Kentucky... wins all season. They should have been better, but that's why they play the games - they should consider vastly improving their OOC schedule until the SEC East gets better.
Texas #90 Charles Omenihu

McDonaugh has mentioned his name a ton alresdy.
I have liked him all year. Really gets after it post-snap and plays the game with his feet.

UGAs DL is getting moved easily.
One team is happy to be there, one team isn't. Georgia had bigger goals and it just seems like they dont give a shit to be there.

Bingo. Plus Georgia’s two best defenders skipped the gsme.

I think he’s a pro candidate, too. Very, very bright. If I were an NFL team with an opening, I’d make inquiries right now for Herman.
+1
Totally agree. Glad you said it. I’ve never understood the appeal.
What’s so great? Medium arm. Decent mobility. Decent pocket presence. Decent on the move. Where are the pluses?
They aren’t there...
I agree, I like Haskins game much better

Was clear in the first half that UGA viewed this as a consolation game after not making the playoff.
