that Golden State can't just flip the switch come playoff time? I hope so, I'm dying for an intriguing playoffs again. Klay is having a really poor season by his standards (34% from 3) and Draymond cannot shoot anymore (40% from the field and 24% from 3). Plus there's a strange dynamic around that team with the KD free agency situation

Green really couldnt shoot last year either. But Klay is the key. If he cant find his stroke, they are in trouble. Cousins is a huge x-factor because their bench is weak. Jerebko is a little too inconsistent for my liking.

but 45% from the field and 30% from 3 at least made teams respect the shot a bit more than this season's train wreck. Just a few years ago he was 38% from 3. But I agree, Klay is the really strange one and the key factor. I'd still wager they win it all but it's the worst they've looked during this era.

boston can not trade for him until next year unless irving is involved

Feel like their depth is great and the coaching has been top-notch. This was supposed to be the year they got a Top 5 talent, but with how they are playing right now, I really want them to keep the pedal to the metal. If Lavert can come back and plays up to form in a month or so, there is no reason this team can't compete for the 6th or 7th seed.

Too much talent. Kawhi returns to SA tonight...expect the boos to be loud & constant.

For me it has to be Giannis. 26/13/6 and Milwaukee has the second best record in the league. Love watching him play and always like when a superstar emerges that wasn't a top 3-5 pick

of guys I like watching play is James Harden, but cannot deny how good he's been lately as well. That roster is really flawed and he's dragged them back into contention. It's him and Giannis for MVP at this point

As for Harden, I can't stand watching him play. Great player, but doesn't do it for me.

Lebron is probably the MVP every season the same way Jordan (don't freak out dep) probably should have won every season but the award gets spread around.

Kawhi is fantastic but with him getting periodic rest it may be tough to make the MVP case when he'll probably sit out 15 games by the time the season is over

I think Lebron will get a lot of those rests too now. So Giannis comes to the forefront.

If AD somehow gets that team to the playoffs, he should be in the mix too.

I think Kawhi could get there but they've been fine in the games he's missed, and it's a lot of games.

Harden has a lot of haters but the man is balling right now. Best player in the league the last month, scoring like a madman and carrying the Rockets on his back. Playoffs are where legacies are made and he's come up short too often there, but the man could possibly have 3 MVPs at this point and is in contention for another one. Just a special player.

He has to chuck though. Gobert is not a guy you run the offense through. Rubio has always sucked on offense. Ingles is more a catch and shoot person. Favors is inconsistent.

He really doesnt have much help on offense.

Ayton looks like he'll be a good player in this league, but I think he'll be on that Aldridge level. Luka looks like he's going to be a perennial MVP candidate, he's a bad mofo. I hope Trae Young is good enough so Atlanta won't feel too bad about messing that one up. Young's shooting has been poor, considering how many Steph comps he got, but he's a pretty damn impressive passer.

tend to invoke some kind of "soft European" stereotype, which has been prevalent in NBA talk for ages. They talk about a tough eastern European player in the same way some would say a black guy is articulate... like it's a contradiction.

A guy like Doncic is probably not many family members removed from someone who was killed in a war, killed people in a war, or imprisoned by secret police. It always makes me laugh a bit when the soft European thing comes up.

Future MVP candidate for sure. Still don't get why the Hawks made that trade.

what does Donovan Mitchell bring? He doesn't rebound. He doesn't pass. His defense is meh, being kind. And he's shooting something like 42 % from the floor.

The only shot to trade Lee was last year when he was actually playing well. Kanter should be bought out when Mitch is healthy. Keep Lance for the tank and good guy.

I don't see any scenario the Knicks can move Hardaway without attaching a pick or player. That contract is not worth what he brings. It was a terribe signing but it is what it is. If they need the cap, the will find a way to move it.
