Having a conversation with the better half about our jobs. It made me wonder if people are satisfied with their employment?
I love what I do and would not change a thing and this is 35 years into the health sector. My wife feels the same. We believe we represent some people but I said I would ask. What would be your ideal employ if you were not at your present position? What would make you change your job? I guess we are fortunate because when I ask my children about what they do and also the spouses, I do not get a warm and fuzzy feeling. OK BBI what say you?
My ideal job would be Secretary of Defense. No chance in hell I get it....

Realistic - Get a job as a compliance manager for Marriott where I travel the world for them helping to improve struggling properties
Dream - Get paid by the state of Florida to help promote tourism by fishing every day and creating fishing and travel videos for them.
Sometimes, you don't realize that you are in your ideal job until you are no longer. That was the case with me.
I spent spring breaks in St. Croix diving. After graduation, I decided to take an extended vacation before joining the rat race. Never considered the possibility of working in the islands. I was just there to soak it up for awhile. The one guy who knew me from the previous years trips was talking with me the one night asking what I was doing for so long. Most visitors are there for a week to 10 days at most. He ended up introducing me to the owner the next day and I had a job as a dive guide. It was a good life.
Now I work for a great company, progressive and socially responsible, and even though it’s the same type of work, the environment and mission make all the difference in the world.

Hope the pay is good!

I hate my job. I like the people I work with, money's okay, but I hate the field I'm in. But I also know it's better to have this than to not have a job and it's also a stepping stone to where I want to be: with the NY Football Giants.

Did you see the employment numbers released this morning? A recession will come, it is inevitable, but not any time soon. This economy is on fire.
Yep. I was a deckhand in HS and sometimes in college(for a kid the best paying job). Great job. Went back and occasionally ran a cruise boat for the same family which I absolutely loved. Still one of the best jobs I ever had, although Chief Mate on a ship was my favorite.
I'd have a career doing something I'm passionate about.
That's not nothing.

I wish I'd taken more in my 20s and 30s. I was a proper hellion before I had to jump into my career, and it rocked.
