led the league in broken tackles, didn't fumble once, and played behind was was universally regarded as a terrible offensive line. I have no idea how he didn't get named an All-Pro.
Elliott and Gurley had more yds/game than Barkley. So stat wise they make sense. The eyeball test should have told the voters that Barkley had to do so without a line or a passing game most of the year. That said, I don't have a problem with Elliott or Gurley over him, but McCaffrey? Fantastic player, but Barkley deserved it much more so.
Both Gurley and Elliott did not play full seasons. Elliott would have likely led the league in yards from scrimmage if he played Week 17. Absent injury, Gurley may have rushed for more yards than Barkley had he played the last two games, and he scored more overall TDs.
Both played on better teams (in the playoffs) and neither are in New York. Barkley will have his time, if he stays healthy. I don't think anyone reasonably doubts that he is at least as good, if not better, than both of them.
With a huge need at RT and a 26 year good young RT in Mitchell Schwartz available on the FA market Reese didn't even place a call for a visit.
Jay, people keep saying that but 1)Did Reese even have time to sign him given how quickly he signed elsewhere? 2) Wasn’t it reported that he didn’t want to sign where his brother was (unceremoniously?) let go?
Btw, in what universe did Gurly and Zeke have a better year? Â
We’re not talking MVP voting, we’re simply talking who had the best year?
They each had very good years. And Gurley and Zeke are on playoff teams. So that was probably a factor.
Let me tell you something, there are worse decisions on the list. For example, Jason Kelce and Zach Martin were not great this year. Those are completely on rep, and laughable.
Kittle had a couple hundred more yards, but Ertz scored three more TDs, and Ertz broke the NFL record for receptions in a season by a tight end with 116 catches.
ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN CATCHES, 1163 yards, and 8 TDs, and doesn't even get 2nd Team?
WTF. I get that Kittle had a great year, but that's a joke.
He won the rushing title by almost 200 yards. Saquon had a shot and got held down the last two games.
Barkley caught more passes and scored a bunch more TDs. The point is, even if Zeke was deemed to have a better year (I disagree), that still leaves Gurly over SB for the second slot. Oh please!
He won the rushing title by almost 200 yards. Saquon had a shot and got held down the last two games.
Zeke didn't play the final week and still had 43 more carries. If we gave them an equal amount of carries and even knocked off half a yard off Barkley's YPC, he would've won the rushing title with 1500 yards.
Zeke scored less, fumbled more, and averaged less per touch with a better offensive line. Barkley was the better player this season.
Gurley is the next Emmitt Smith, good not great (much less generational) RB in an amazing offense. Imagine Barkley over there. I admit I see things with a blue lense but it's hard to believe anyone not saying Barkley is better than Gurley.
It was a strong year for RB...and have to Mae the young guys earn it.
He will get his, promise.
It's still a snub. 7 rushes over 40 yards vs 1 or none? Put on their highlights tape and compare. In truth it's not that close when you factor in the OLs.
he got snubbed. Barkley is more dazzling to watch, but Elliot and Gurley had great seasons. I think you are being too much of a homer if this really bothers you.
Couldn’t agree more

and why have 4 edge rushers on the second team amd not 4 of everything else
WTF!!!
With all due respect, just look at the tape and who performed better with less help.
Saquon was squashed in 2 of his last 3 games; maybe that tipped the scales against him?
Both played on better teams (in the playoffs) and neither are in New York. Barkley will have his time, if he stays healthy. I don't think anyone reasonably doubts that he is at least as good, if not better, than both of them.
Dude was a stud.

Just what the NFL needs. Barkley with a chip on his shoulders.
Barkley was better than Zeke.

Neither would I.
'nuff said.

McCaffrey over Saquon, a joke.
Also Kittle over Ertz is NOT a stretch. He was the 49ers entire passing game.
Joe, I don’t see meltdowns. I see incredulity.
He won the rushing title by almost 200 yards. Saquon had a shot and got held down the last two games.

Saquon was named to PFFs all pro team.

Please wake me when we make the playoffs. Both Gurley and Zeke are still playing.
Barkley’s team was 5-11. That should matter.

Maybe in MVP voting it should but in an individual All Star/best player at a position type vote it shouldn't.
With our OL.. Imagine if he had what Zek has... Zek is SO overrated.
Fuck them - GIANTS always get snubbed.
He will get his, promise.

That is total horseshit.
