Per Twitter. This is a guy who I always thought would make a good coach here & checks off a lot of boxes.
-Formerly on Coughlin’s staff
-Did a great job with Temple
-Has turned around the Baylor program
I think this guy could be a very good NFL HC.
Apparently, they were the Matt Rhules. Wasn't funny enough for two posts, haha.
from the college ranks. Peter King says a lot of teams consider him a high value target.
as a possible successor to Coughlin. He really in many ways was being groomed in a similar way (be an assistant on the Giants, go run a college program for a few years (in TC's case it was BC, and Rhule was Temple, and then come back to the pros).
When he interviewed secretly for the Indy job and passed, he sent the signals to the NFL that he wanted back in. He would be a good hire for the Jets.
when one takes a pro HC job
Supposedly they're very high on him and will(or have) interviewed him. Because he's a college coach it has to be done in smokey backroom style because we don't want it to hurt his recruiting
He's intriguing. Still would rather have McCarthy
I thought he was being groomed for the Giants, too, back in the day. Btw, Coach Flaherty's success as an OL coach seemed to rise and fall on whoever was his assistant.
Apparently you now need to request permission to interview or lose draft picks. USC is blocking teams from interviewing Kingsbury
