So tired of Giant-less playoffs (bit of a rant)

My Ears Trophy : 1/5/2019 8:18 am
I know that I am a new comer and everything but I bleed blue and have been a Giant fan for ages. I am getting pretty irked that we cannot show our faces come playoff time!

3-13, 5-11? 6-10? What is this gibberish? Isn't this the New York Giants, of course I remember the faulty times with the 70s and the torture but hello? When can we get back on the winning track?

Anyone else sick of sitting around and discussing what the Houston Texans are going to do come playoff time? All Blaine Gabbert had to do was win one game and he was in the playoffs. Yuck. Yet us? Eliminated with 2 games to go and one with that toilet bowl of a stadium filled to the brim with Dallas fans!

I say something. I rest this Giants loue on top of my shoulders when I am hoping come 2020, the New York Giants will be in the playoffs and smash Philadelphia Eagles 30-0 IN the first round. So sick of Foles, so sick of not seeing the NY Giants in the playoffs on the regular. Where is the faith?
I feel your pain.. just hang in there bud, that’s all you can do

Well we were in the playoffs just 2 years ago so we haven't been the Browns. Since 2011 its been a little bit of a drought but you should be excited as to whats coming up.

We have one of the best RB's in the game, one of the best WR's in the game. A TE that shows he can play, Shepard can play. We've added a couple of pieces on the line but have more to go.

There are reasons to be excited for the near future. It took 7 years of bad drafting to get us to this point. DG has had one offseason and made some progress. Patience. The good times are coming again.

Started watching football with my dad in the early to mid seventies I guess when I was 7 or 8. At first I liked the bikes cus of their helmets but my father was such a big giants (and Yankee) fan that I very quickly went in that direction. The first player I liked was Brad Van Pelt, probably is he was our best player in those days. Him and the punter Jennings.
Anyway rant if you like, these last years have sucked. But the losing makes the incredible wins even better imo.....when they come....see superbowl 21

Many of the past Giants playoff games can be found on YouTube

2016 is a distant memory now...

The offense was broke.....no running game.....no OL.....OBj was catching balls and taking them to the house.....that was our offense.....if he/Eli had a bad game, or the opposing defense concentrated on stopping OBj, this offense was in trouble....

Was it the schedule or matchups, that made the defense look better than it actually was? Everything just seem to go our way that year.....but that 2016 defense could make stops in the 4th quarter, something this defense had no ability to....
Eh. I'm used to it.

I still bleed Giants blue, but I haven't really lived & died with them in awhile now. I'm sorta just resigned to them sucking.
Every team goes through this lull

its our turn. When Tom and Bill leave the Pats they will be at the bottom for a few years as well.

Time to be smart and get a good foundation for the future.
I believe the Giants are

Turning the corner. There is a core of exciting young players on this roster, just need more

Also, once a young quarterback is in place, there is a different feel to a team

Eli s first year was rough, but I remember that last game of the season, I was emotionally invested, because there are no meaningless games when you have a young quarterback developing.

Same here, what can you do. That is why the last shot they had it was sad that some players were partying and shit the bed on game day.

You don't know how many shots you will have. For Odell who knows when he gets back, maybe he will be more on point next time, if there is a next time.

Thing is you can't live and die with this stuff, likely some fans are more broken up over the losing than the players. They often can comfort themselves in piles of money.

Likely 365 from now there will br another Giants less playoffs.

I was going to say me too, but for me I've soured on football in general. I used to watch football day and night, but it's evolved into long, penalty fest game. You've got guys doing a dance after getting a first down and his team is down by 4 touchdowns. A guy gets a sack and does his best Hulk Hogan imitation only to get pancaked on the next play. It seems that defense players can't tackle any more. All-in-all it's a lot less of an entertaining game than it once was and when your team sucks it makes it that much worse.

You or I could have made "some progress" with the #2 pick in the draft and obj playing a lot more games. DG needs to do much better this off season or he needs to be gone.
After we an improbable (some said impossible) SB XLII,

I said, along with others, that this high would last forever. Then we fucking did it again in SB XLVI!

To be able to watch those glorious playoff games over and over again, gives me the incredible pleasure so few NFL Fans ever have or will have the opportunity to treasure.

Sure I’m not thrilled with the last 7 years in the main, but I’ve got 4 magical trophies to regale myself with over and over again. I’m very fortunate and whenever we begin to put it together for another run, I’ll be there to enjoy. Again.

...they could have lost those two SB vs New England.

Are an outlier relative to other super bowl winners who have kept the same starting QB. New England Pittsburgh GreenBay and Seattle have all managed to regularly have winningseasons or make the playoffs . Baltimore is the closest parallel where they struggled after the super bowl with the same QB
