So the Giants gave OBJ a big extension not to trade him

OBJ will be 27 11/19. Interested in understanding the rationale behind the contract if we do not have our next QB on the team until 2020. Given the his injury history are they wasting his prime years without a QB? Do you think that DG has a plan? I am starting to think they are going after the next QB this year either FA or draft. Your thoughts?

has anything to do with the QB situation. He�s a premier WR, arguably the best in the game and Gettleman felt he should be a Giant. Plain and simple.

Roster building exercises, that's not reality.

You can't perfectly time everything. GMs do their best to add and retain quality players and void or get rid of bad ones.

If they make more good decisions than bad ines, the team will have a chance.

Say the Giants are targeting 2020 to get their QB which I think they are. Don't you want to give him as much help as possible? Having Beckham, Barkley, and Engram and hopefully a very solid OL by then will surely make a rookie QB's transition to the NFL much easier. Beckham will still be in his prime.

So just because we supposedly don't have our QB until 2020 we should not start building up other critical positions? So like we should wait until 2020 to fill all 11 positions on offense. He is a clue. It takes more than 1 or 2 years to build a team.

Maybe drafting, building, upgrading, etc. each roster spot is not mutually exclusive. Just throwing it out there.
