San Diego/west coast Giants fans: I’m headed to San Diego for work in a couple days for close to a month. I was there for only a daytrip roughly 6 years ago. I did the Gaslamp thing, which was cool and I’m assuming I’ll visit there again. Also visited Coronado island, but just to see the Pacific.

What are some cool places, must see/do things in the area? Any recommendations for my cross country trip are appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I enjoyed the Maritime Museum

The Old Globe Theater can be a great place to see a show, depending on what's there. Some great shows have come out of there on their way to Broadway.
bring your passport and take a jaunt across the border

you won't find many experiences like Tijuana here in the US. it might not be the best overall time, but it should give you plenty to talk about when you get back.
A couple things...

1) Best burrito I have ever had was at a place called La Perla... we ended up going multiple times.

2) Good spot for dinner called Cucina Urbana.

3) When I was there we took a short trip to Tijuana and went to Hong Kong Gentleman’s club, which may not fit with the work trip, but it is well... one of a kind. (If anyone on the board has been, you’ll understand...)

great walkable city, take a loop from the midway along the water to the convention center. There's shops and restaurants along the way, the midway was a great experience and worth the time, staffed by a lot of Navy guys.

If you have never been on an Aircraft Carrier..

The Midway would be a pretty cool experience. And, even if you have, like me, it's still pretty interesting. Midway is a very old ship, and much smaller than what I served on. I found a new appreciation for my Carrier!:)

Enjoy San Diego. Man, do I miss Coronado! My ship was tied up at North Island NAS so Coronado was kind of our place. Very nice town....lot of nice shops on Orange Ave, and McP's Pub was always a lot of fun. And, of course, the beach.
Definitely check out Old Town

And if you’re there for a month, head up to North County and hang out in Encinitas or Leucadia.

If you’re into hiking, head over to Torrey Pines for spectacular ocean views or Palomar mountain (potato chip rock) for mountain views.
I went back in August

for a bachelor party.

We didn't have much free time because on Saturday we played golf at Torrey Pines which was incredibly overrated.

Sunday we played at Avaiara in Carlsbad which was nice.

After Torrey Pines, we went to Torrey Holistics if you fancy that sort of stuff. It was my first time partaking in that stuff. I ate ONE edible and for the first 90 minutes it was the best feeling ever.

Then the world started to spin, had to go back to the house we rented.
Pleasantly surprised

We visited CA for the first time last year. The only reason we spent any time in SD was because of my daughter's bf. I will say I was pleasantly surprised with it. I found it to be one of the nicest cities we saw, we stayed in the bay portion near the Padres stadium, I think it was Petco?

That whole walk along the bay there is a lot to see and do, old shops, restaurants, etc.. The gas light area near the stadium was also very nice. A couple of points of interest we really liked was the Zoo, Old Town area and La Jolla Cove. Really loved the Cove and Old Town. The cove was beautiful with a ton of Seals and Sea Lions out in the open to see.
I'm just now making plans for a conference there in May

(of course my daughter just had to move away to Denver this week so my ulterior motive disappeared).

We have a reception/"gala" on the Midway, so that will be fun. Otherwise, i'm thinking Crack Shack, Juniper and Ivy, and this place that serves giant donuts.
