prospective poll: 2019 NY Giants QBs

CardinalX : 1/7/2019 5:40 pm
so you're tasked with making a poll:

Who will be the starting and backup QBs for the 2019 NY Giants?

I'd guess you would want 5 to 7 choices. maybe more? you have to start with Eli as one. probably add Lauletta, although his 2018 wasn't a great on or off field indicator. and the Giants did lett Webb go after 1 year. add in some prospective FAs, trade candidates and draft prospects.

So who would you list in a 5 to 7 name poll as most likely to be in consideration to hold down the #1 or #2 NY Giant QB spot in 2019? as it stands right now. pre-combine. etc
Doesn't

matter as long as we get a good one.
I would list
Jay on the Island : 1/7/2019 5:54 pm : link
Eli
Kyle Lauletta
Nick Foles
Dwayne Haskins
Daniel Jones
Tyree Jackson
Will Grier
Eli will be 5he starter

In 2019. Backed up by Bridgewater.
Eli
kes722 : 1/7/2019 5:58 pm : link

2019 pick.... maybe lock
Joe Flacco
Trainmaster : 1/7/2019 6:02 pm : link

Eli Manning
Blue21 : 1/7/2019 6:07 pm : link
Kyle Lauletta
2019 draft pick
Eli and Lauletta

Eli
PatersonPlank : 1/7/2019 6:10 pm : link
Haskins
I’d guess Haskins & Lauletta

I think Eli will retire.
I think it’s

Eli
Lauletta
Draft pick
Eli will be the qb in 2019 and maybe even 2020!
SterlingArcher : 1/7/2019 6:20 pm : link
What qb would make the Giants better? That should be the question. The answer of course is no one but Eli!
Mine:
AcidTest : 1/7/2019 6:25 pm : link
Eli.
Lauletta.
Draft pick/Sloter.
I think it will be Eli and Lauletta
Go Terps : 1/7/2019 6:28 pm : link
I'd be surprised if Eli walks away from $23 million.

and somebody.
Eli will be the starter
Bluesbreaker : 1/7/2019 9:11 pm : link
Lauletta likely backup .
If they decide o take a QB
they will probably carry 3 QB's Whomever they draft won't be the starter .
If they Sign a QB Say Foles Bridgewater Would they not have to cut or trade Eli before hand ?
Very difficult to make an accurate Guess .
Haskins and Jones are the only two I think they might take .
I don't think Either are worthy at 6th pick
Eli is basically a lock to start and backup could be a number of players really .

This is what I WANT to happen --- Flacco or Foles is what I think WILL happen.
Eli starts one more season
jnoble : 1/7/2019 9:48 pm : link
And Dan Jones is the back up/starter in training

Of course. You just want your hero to start and nothing else matters, isn't that right/ You''re a hero worshipper.
I fail to see any reason...
Vinny from Danbury : 1/7/2019 10:03 pm : link
to spend a young QB's non-vested time until we shore up the obvious OL problems. Do that, and it's time to bring in a young QB. Doing it before is just wasting years of his time. No QB can play behind the crap we've put out there the last several years. So until that time, I'd personally keep Eli. He proved to me this season he can still make all the throws, and run the team.

Basically, Fix the Trenches, then worry about a QB.
To many varibles
rasbutant : 1/7/2019 11:33 pm : link
So I would generalize it.

Eli
Kyle
2019 1st round pick
2019 draft pick not 1st round
FA veteran
Trade Veteran

But Lauletta will be 3rd string not getting past the hof'er Tanny
Let me add this corollary...
bw in dc : 1/8/2019 1:05 am : link
If it’s Eli then don’t for a second dismiss the notion that Mara once again stepped in.

There you go again, acting as though you know anything about the minds of our front office and ownership. Give it a rest for once.

I agree. Giants probably 2 drafts away from competing for a playoff slot provided they find a QB.

Sure why not
My gut says Eli is retiring...
x meadowlander : 1/8/2019 11:36 am : link
...if not, then yes he starts.

If he's gone though?

Dark times have arrived.

Giants have been very blessed to have solid QB's from the day they picked up Kerry Collins... man, it's been a long run! 19 years.

Before Collins, well there was Simms, and you really have to go all the way back to JFK and freakin' YA Tittle to find another Pro Bowl QB.

Ah, what we take for granted.

This makes sense to me, too. I guess it doesn't necessarily have to dictate everything they do, especially if something unexpected occurs, but it's a factor they have to deal with.
