"Tony Khan and Shad Khan issued their first public statements today regarding the formation of All Elite Wrestling. Shad, the billionaire businessman who owns the Jacksonville Jaguars, said that he is "the lead investor, a supporter and a backer of All Elite Wrestling."
His son Tony, who is a co-owner of the Jaguars and a longtime wrestling fan, said that the promotion will launch with a roster of the top talents in the world and he urged everyone to support the upstart group."
Kind of interesting to see an upstart company "take aim" at the WWE while Vince brings back the XFL

Its going to be very hard to overtake them. The only way it does is you throw insane money at the wrestlers, and that still may not be good enough.
and forget if he gets competition, he will bury them. Look at when Impact Wrestling with big names tried to compete against WWE. They got demolished.
In addition AEW has money, Good Ole JR and star power with Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks and have been a youtube sensation, with some major networks very interested.
If that was not enough, Kenny Omega, a guy the WWE desperately wanted chose AEW.
This could be different as timing is everything...
This could be interesting.

is that official on kenny?
JR is with AEW?
WWE was stale with when Impact was at its height. what happened then?
but mixed in todays big stars, Aj Styles, Samoa Joe and others.

Impact ran out of money after overpaying older guys like Hogan and WWE still had Cena and some other stars.
JR is going to AEW when his contract with WWE is over
Omega is official from what I have heard.

A bit of an asshat here, but yes, I can tell you I know JR is going there. And they are talking to some big networks to push this. If you ever are going to take on the WWE, now is the time because there is an uptick in interest in Wrestling, their rating have been going down and Vince isn't getting younger and has stretched himself thin pushing the XFL.

not trying to be a defender. hell i want the WWE to get competition because thats when they were better. The problem i see is Vince is still the man in WWE. He runs it. Triple H created and runs NXT. If Triple H takes over, that would be awesome.
AEW will be great as long as they differentiate themselves from WWE.

That's a fair assessment. WWE isn't going anywhere, but this will have a chance to become some real competition than your usual Indie circuit.
I don't think he likes wrestling much anymore, but his hatred for Vince might make him join up just to stick it to him.
Vince is at his best when he has competition. He hasn't had any in awhile.
Vince shouldn't try to compete with football and football shouldn't try to compete with Vince, but let's see what happens.
I have no doubts McMahon could create a much better football product (compared to the NFL), but that doesn't mean people are going to willingly leave the NFL. There's too much history and people like what they are comfortable with.
The same thing can be said for the WWE.
Fucking bought them all out.
I was a massive wrestling fan but actually stopped watching the sport after McMahon acquired WCW and ECW.
No competition was too much of a turn-off for me.
wwe is very much in play
thats a big get.
they need a legit TV deal. Not a fusion tv or some fight tv. Im talking USA, MTV or something.
Neville is a nice get too. But more is needed. New stars with some old ones. Just use the old ones as advisors and not the stars.
Just dont go against the big dog as they will get trounced.
