talk about landing on your feet. I know it's the Cardinals but he's getting one of the 32 most coveted football coaching jobs in the world after being fired from his alma mater.
Offensively he is brilliant, no doubt. He has never won as a HC in college and i don't think he has ever even coached in the NFL before.
If i were an NFL team with a struggling offense, i would have fired my OC and tried throwing 3 or 4 million at him. He is definitely going to help Rosen.
He needs to take a page out of Mcvay's book and hire an older, established DC who commands a lot of respect. If he fails to do so, i don't think he'll last.
he could be less ego driven in the pros and does well at delegation .... get a great DC and DC assts stay out of their soup and focus on HC duties and QB development ... which would allow access to the OC and the system without being intrusive.
Hell Pat S ... would do well to let the playcalling duties go as HC.

Msybe he can lure Herm Edwards. LOL!
I thought Gase had a real good shot at that job. Â
My buddy whose a Jets fan said he is getting serious consideration, he is a great offensive mind but supposedly burns bridges with his take it or leave it approach.
I think they like Matt Rhule a bit better. Kingsbury seems like he needs be a coordinator for a few years.
He wasn't a very good head coach in college. I wouldn't entrust him with any franchise yet
Of course not. You know, since he was more interested in the Arizona Cardinals than your team...
The Jets never offered Kingsbury the job.
Think about it. It's pretty obvious which team he preferred.
Is it? He almost had a contract finalized with Arizona and still met with the Jets. That's a risk. Arizona could've questioned his commitment to them and rescinded it.
Sometimes all you need to see is a year of incompetence and know when to pull the plug.
Sometimes you see a poor record, but potential, good game planning, adjustments, good discipline, a team that is disciplined, motivated, smart but plagued by bad luck. That coach you keep because you feel he can eventually grow in the job and win.
Wilks showed none of that. And he wasn't the right guy to get the best out of Rosen.
Many teams don't want to wait to hire a HC and want to get started on next year ASAP.
- Johnny Manziel
- Baker Mayfield
- Davis Webb
- Pat Maholmes
I could see hiring him as an OC. As a head coach, though?
Defense does have to be played in the NFL to win last I checked.
If you've been to Arizona you may understand why a relatively young, single, good looking guy may choose that location.

The pendulum may be swinging a little too aggressively towards the young hotshot offensive coach.
I can't imagine why having your team's training facility right next door to ASU would be such a draw!

The fans seemed to as well. Surprising he chose Arizona and did it so quickly. Wonder what the factors were.

Arizona State has the hottest co-eds in the country...or so I've been told

By Greg. But shit, you saw who McVay scored in LA.
I could see Rosen making a jump with a guy like him in his corner though. Not like Goff, but some sort of jump..not sure Wilks was a QB guy.
Lets be honest, is the 35-40 head coach of Texas Tech so well known if he wasn't so god damn handsome.

That's just foolish.

They just fired a defensive minded coach after one season.
Nope, he has not. His three coaching stops are UH, TAMU, and Texas Tech.

He’s white, I mean right, for the job.

What does race have to do with anything?

Yeah, definitely no hotties to be found in New York City...

Wilkes got all of one of one year. I’m sure this guy with his stellar college coaching record will get a lot more leeway.

You mean Florham Park?
Let that sink in
Prior to Kingsbury, they 18 of19 winning seasons. He proceeded to have losing years in 4 out of 6 seasons

No one Wants the hot coordinators of playoff teams?

This is the dilemma teams that need hc's wait out and possibly end up scrambling for a hc or get one and get to work quickly for offseason

Wrong. Baker got hurt and transferred because he didn’t think he could get his job back. Mahomes then pushed Webb to Cal, because he’s Mahomes.

I never said it was a good hire. Just don’t know how race comes into play.
