Is it possible for the 2019 Giants draft ...

Manny in CA : 1/8/2019 3:19 pm

To pick up 3-4 starters, picking at #6, overall ?

The Colts picking #3 overall in 2018 parlayed that into FOUR starters: guard: Quenton Nelson (6th over-all); LB Darius Leonard (#36 over-all); guard Brandon Smith (#37 over-all and DE Tyquan Lewis (#64 over-all)

What-ever it takes, I want to see at least three starters come out of this draft - Edge Rusher, Free Safety, Corner and "gravy" would be a Right tackle.

Sure

to hit on a great LB

Like Dallas and Indy did

i feel like its been a long time since the Giants drafted a great LB
Giants got 3.5 starters

from last years draft with only 6(?) picks: Barkley, WH, Hill and Carter (rotational player 2018, potential starter).

So, yes it's possible for them to get 3-4 starters with ~11 picks this year.
I'll take three...

...and be very happy about that.

The Colts 4 starters all came among the first 2 rounds.

Giants have 2 picks in those rounds, and not one pick in the third round. The Colts started higher too, and traded back to get those picks.

Does Beal count as a 2019 pick? Then maybe yes, but doubtful at the impact level of the Colts' 4 guys.

Beal should count there. He was projected as a #1 this year when we took him. If our evaluation (which I am sure we did) was wrong then we blew it.
Yes

Would bet a lot of money i do not have that Gettleman will use picks to either move into the 3rd, or leverage a move into the 3rd to go even higher. He does not trade back, but he is willing to trade up if he loves a certain guy.

The expectation is our first two picks will be quality starters, i think he trades up and gets another guy who falls into the same list. Factor in late round picks and his ability to sniff out UFDA, he will find us some players.

Now, will he find 2 all-pro rookie players like the Colts? Hard to imagine so.
Colts added 2 2nd rd picks by

Trading back with the Jets who wanted a qb. So far no one has offered us a deal for our pick.

It was a long time ago. So long that the LB himself has been retired for 15 years. Jessie Armstead, who they landed on in the 8th round, which doesn't even exist any more.
Good luck with that

Considering how draft picks, aside from very few, panning out in ny giants uni

confidence that with all these picks, we'll have at least 3 new starters, maybe 4. It's my feeling that some of those 5th, 6th, and 7th rounders will be packaged to allow us to move up. I'm really hoping to get back into the 3rd round.

I can't wait for draft day.
Very good year and good set up cards wise

To keep #6 and use some of the nid and late picks to add additional 2nd rounders.

I would use:

6
35?
38
And o
At least one of the 4th rounders (assuming you have one after the t are into 2) all on defensive players.

Most likely:

6...DL
35?....OLB
38....FS or ILB

Rd 4.....Center
Rd 4 a .....ILB #2 or corner

...Etc....

Rd 5....blocking TE
Thank you, Grit ...

Two Rookie ALL PROS for the Colts.

Leonard and Nelson by became only the second set of rookie teammates to be voted to The Associated Press All-Pro team.

Gale Sayers and Dick Butkus made the 1st team in 1965. Both eventually entered the Hall of Fame with the Bears.
