but there is definitely potential for disaster with his personality. Ira from Staten Island called this earlier today on The Michael Kay Show, when it looked like McCarthy and Rhule were the favorites.
I think he actually did good work in Miami under some challenging circumstances. Peyton Manning is a huge advocate and pushed for Haslem to hire him in Cleveland.
It's a gamble by the Jets, but I can see the logic if they think paring a young coach with a young QB is the right fit. At the end of the day, Gase may be a better OC. So this will be interesting.
Me? I would have gone the way of McCarthy just because his resume is so strong. It's very strange this guy doesn't have a job...
particularly fond of the Jets, but for some odd reason I have been really enjoying Joe and Evan (particularly Joe) bitch and moan about the Jets this past week.
You never know how these things will play out but it is a weird hire.
are one of the last teams that should laugh at the Jets. The Giants are a mess.
Agreed there. I'd rather be in their shoes than ours.
Why? They had a worse record than we did in 2018. I mean the only thing I'm jealous of is the fact they have a higher draft pick than us, but I see no reason to prefer to be in their shoes than ours. Both NY teams are in the shitter right now.
RE: Beningo at 10am will be an absolute must listen.. Â
He was not good at all in Miami. Was confrontational and weird in handling a lot of players.
The team lost or deteriorated its talent because he started pushing guys off the team the last two years. He had his best season with players picked and coached from prior regime.
Macagnan isn’t doing such a bang up job himself with the build up of talent so it’ll be interesting to see how the dynamic here plays out.
I'm serious, this could be the thing that puts him over the edge. He went on a 10 minute rant the other day about how important it was to hire the right coach and the thing that set him off into this rant was someone suggesting that right coach was Adam Gase.
says Rhule wanted "total control" over hiring assistants. Not many HC hires get that certainly not a mildly successful college coach with the barest minimum NFL experience. Rhule either didn't really want the job or overplayed his hand.

How do not many coaches have that authority? It isn't like he is asking for total control over all football decisions. He is hiring his staff. Not a big deal at all.

JETS JETS JETS!
No say on assistants? That can't be true. Maybe final say but the HC has to have input on his assistants.
Source? If true that just spells disaster
Yeah, he’s not as bad as a lot of folks seem to think.

I would hire him over McCarthy though
Wow jets finally appear to have a good qb and will stil fuck it up
It will be epic.
He had a melt down today at the mere possibility they won’t hire McCarthy.

Yeah this doesn't look good for the Jets.
Not a great HC market.
Agreed there. I'd rather be in their shoes than ours.

This 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
The Jets haven't won a Super Bowl since Lyndon Baines Johnson was president.
Stop with this shit.

What about McCarthy?

for the Jets if you have it so bad as Giant fans...
On the Rhule thread, several usual suspects were lauding the Jets for going in the right direction while the Giants are stuck in neutral.
They can't even have patience enough to see the guy isn't their fucking coach and are throwing out insults.
