I thought that too, but they never coached together. Rodgers met Bowles when they were both in Miami as assistants. Rodgers was never in Arizona.

guess this is a case of a man deciding whether or not he wants to move again. Really has no roots to this staff, but might just not feel like relocating after losing the job with the Jets and might be weighing a demotion to a position coach at a new location or a "consulting" role that doesn't require him to move.

After all, Shurmur is happy with 5-11!

He had a health scare mid season last year which forced him away for a few weeks. I wonder if he has doctors here and his family is settled so he would stay. Else, it would seem going back with Bowles, who he's coached with in Miami and the Jets would be an easy transition.

But we would assume the Bowles' system is similar to what Bettcher runs since both of them were under Arians, so you'd think his coaching skills would translate well with the Giants.

"Rodgers has plenty of coaching experience, as he�s been in the league for a while now. He began at the college level as the defensive line coach with Tennessee-Martin from 1994-1997. He then made stops with Northeast Louisiana, Middle Tennessee State and Arkansas before reaching the NFL.

His first coaching gig in the NFL was with the Dallas Cowboys as their defensive tackles coach in 2003. Rodgers was there until 2008 before leaving for Miami as the defensive line coach. He spent seven seasons with the Dolphins before leaving for New York. It was in Dallas that Rodgers and Bowles first linked up; they�ve been working together on and off ever since."

I know some are sour on wiki, but it is updated since yesterday saying Kacy Rogers is now the Senior Defensive Staff Position for the New York Giants.

Can anyone confirm outside of Wiki?
