understand both sides. Guy wants to play, team wants their franchise player to be healthy and also wants to tank. I don't think either side is wrong.
I understand too, and actually think he has a fair point. But no reason for him to be griping to people about it.
But IMO they should consider letting him.
I can see where after going through grueling rehab and having that worry and uncertainty in your head until you "test" it in a real game you wouldn't want to be forced to wait the entire off season to do so. If he's physically ready the Knicks could let him come back for very limited minutes just for him to get that behind him.
you read Beer's piece from yesterday it would be "impossible" barring KP/Janss to be out of their minds for KP to not sign an extension with the Knicks in the off-season. Potentially one of those "worst decisions in sports history" type bad. I thought Spree turning down 21 million from 36-38 and then trashing the Wolves owner was bad... this would be worse. I'm not concerned.
than being mediocre tabloid fodder, what does him being a "pain in the ass" do exactly? Again, barring him being out of his fucking mind he's going to be a Knick long term.

I just do not know why he is worried about this, i get he wants to play but the best thing for his future and knicks future is to sit...
i feel like the media in new york are upset this tank is actually going pretty decently that they're doing anything to stir up controversy.
the knox/ntilikina bum story, kanter being unhappy, kp unhappy and other teams being interested in him, the dolan selling the team quote. in a couple weeks we'll hear something else.

In fairness we don't know what's going on behind the scenes rehab wise. Maybe he wants to do XYZ physically and they are saying "okay in 2 weeks we can begin that" etc. Rehab isn't fun.
trying to figure out if the Snacks trade was worth it.
I'll bet you're one of those guys who simultaneously thinks a)the Giants were THIS close to winning a bunch of those games and making the playoffs and b)that they didn't was the defense's fault.

Thing is... Beck isn't a shit stirrer generally so it's a bit different than Bondy or Isola.
playing with Zion next semester. The constant mood thermometers on players is silly. Half a year ago, we thought Paul George was a cinch to be a Laker.

i agree, and i get he is frustrated he is not playing but to be upset at the organization would be a little ridiculous if you ask me

Rehabbing from this injury is a long, hard, lonely grind. Then they are left with nervous apprehension about what their knee will do when really finally tested in a real game situation. I have heard players that went through this say that they wouldn't want to have to wait an entire second season to get it behind them.
He isn't stupid, he knows they are hoping for the highest pick. But that doesn't change the fact he is going through something dramatic on a personal level and when physically ready wants to get that first game back and over with and behind him.
If he is physically ready they should let him come back sparingly with very limited minutes if that is what he wants.
It's pretty easy to believe that he's not happy with the plan. He's
been healing and rehabbing for nearly a year. Waiting until next year means he won't play another meaningful game for like 9-10 more months. Probably feels like he's near the end of his rehab and to have the light at the end of the tunnel snuffed out would be hard to take.

steve i get that, and i would not blame him if he was frustrated, i just dont get the being upset with the knicks...
(a) has it been definitely reported that the Knicks' plan is that KP doesn't play this year and (b) if so, did the Knicks say why? I thought KP was going to be ready in March.
Well, why wouldn't he be annoyed by the Knicks in that case?

They have kissed his ass every chance he gets...
Well if you get that and they are planning to deny him that opportunity then you should get why he he is upset with them.
Just saying why I understand why on a personal level that wouldn't matter to him as much as his being able to get that first game back behind him this season and not be forced to have to wait another one. For me it's not that hard to understand. Nobody is really wrong but surely you can empathize with how he might feel.
in throwing him out there in a few games, if it's so important to him. The Porzingis brothers all seem like royal pains in the ass though. He'd be wise to include one non-family member in his inner circle.
I can understand if KP being unhappy missing the season
The guy must be bored out of his skull by now. But it could be that Fiz thinks that having KP play will hamper the development of Knox who plays the same position. It could also mean that Fiz wants KP to play center rather than PF and he figures that he will need time to work on that position (just a guess on my part).

Knox and kp do not play the same position, knox will be a 3, kp is a 4/5
Offer Zinger and Lee for Jaylen brown, sac pick and Memphis pick. In the offseason offer New Orleans, hardaway, Frank and 3 first rounders including 2 lottery picks for Anthony Davis. Sign Durant and Bledsoe and go win a championship:
Bledsoe
Brown
Knox
Durant
Davis
Mudiay
Vonleh
Dotson
Robinson
Mid level
Vets and second rounders
have dolan make a deal with the NCAA and have porzingis rehab with Duke. He"ll be able to rehab and get some experience with his future teammate. Killing 2 birds with one stone
If the fucking guy said, wow, this is great, then you have a problem, a player wanting to play and not wait an entire year, at his age, is normal and should be looked at as a good thing. It is not up to him to be smart about this, it is up to the organization to be the smart ones, I am certain his doctors told him it would be okay, so this can not be easy for him, think about his age for a second and tell me what normal kid his age would be happy, a fucking dud may be happy, not a great athlete.
If so, someone should talk to him, in a very no-nonsense manner.
Jackson wasn't exactly a great example for him...
Quote:
he seemed to have a great attitude and always impressed how mature he sounded. What happened to that guy?
Jackson wasn't exactly a great example for him...
Nor was Melo, really...nor was Joakim Noah...nor was Derrick Rose
(b) which most likely would take them a handful of slots down in the draft,
(c) and while there's really no great physical upside to him playing actual games, there's a much better chance there's a risk of re-injury.
So, no.
He realized how talented he is and that's he stuck on a poorly run franchise.
I don't think he'd have that big of an impact in our draft slot. We'd limit his minutes, and there'd be rust.

Too bad Phil couldn't get a home run deal for him when he made him available on his way out.

I give you credit for being a model of consistency - your basketball opinions are just as worthless as your football opinions.

He was on those Knick teams with Melo that hovered around .500 before nosediving in the second half so he knows what he's missing :)

On top of being a giant douche bag who ought to be bitch slapped, what do you bring to the table other than the following?
Crying about the Yankee strike zone
Mindless rants about Virginia Tech
Phil Simms nostalgia
