The Giant Insider (@GiantInsider)

Eli Manning graded out his best on passes from 20+ yards to the outside left. His worst grade was on the outside left on passes from 0-10 yards

Was very apparent and & #8294;& #8234;@DanSchneierNFL& #8236;& #8297; and I talked about it a few times. His best fades were rhythm fades to left (short 3 step, hits 20-23 yards). Pylon fades or short outs to left expose his poor lower body mechanics (plant foot way left, fall off finish

Nick Turchyn (@Tmanic21)

For those thinking how could a shorter throw be harder? 1) angle is wider, so if u have issues planting left u need to go farther in that direction (exacerbates) 2) longer drop & throw almost like a full wedge in golf vs. a 60 yard pitch, full shot = better rhyth

Why the Giants WILL sign Daryl Williams in FA:
- No $ invested in O-line besides Solder
- PFF No. 2 RT in 2017, injured in 2018
- Gettleman connection (drafted him in Rd. 4)
- CAR has dead cap tied to LT Kalil + Moton on the roster for cheap + $ tied up in OG Turne

Dan Schneier (@DanSchneierNFL)
1/10/19, 12:18 PM
This is the realistic part. The Panthers have already invested a ton of $$ in their O-line. Reports suggest Williams will move on. He was a top-5 ELITE OT in 2017. Injured in 2018. Gettleman found him in Rd. 4 w/ CAR. Giants only have O-line $ tied up with Solder

Dan Schneier (@DanSchneierNFL)
1/10/19, 12:37 PM
They will only have cap space for one big contract, if any. If the Giants sign Williams, that will be all. Their best move will be to then AVOID quick-hit signings (like Stewart, Omameh) and play the second wave of FA (like Michael Thomas, Latimer. No cap space to do all thi

RIP Roy Hilton LDE for the NYG in 1974; better known for his long career in Baltimore and his Super Bowl performance against the Cowboys.

“Hilton peaked in the playoffs in 1970, totaling 4 ½ sacks as the Colts ran the table. In the Super Bowl, he harried Dallas quarterback Craig Morton all day. With 8 ½ minutes to play and the the Cowboys leading 13-6, Hilton dismissed All-Pro tackle Ralph Neely with a head slap and charged Morton, who threw a rainbow pass over Hilton’s outstretched arms. The ball grazed a receiver’s fingertips and was nabbed by safety Rick Volk, who returned it 30 yards to Dallas’ 3-yard line. Two plays later, the Colts tied the game before winning on Jim O’Brien’s 32-yard field goal with 9 seconds left.”

In 1974 the Giants acquired Hilton in a trade for RB Joe Orduna.

In his one year with the Giants as a starting LDE in Bill Arnsparger’s first year as Giants’ coach, Hilton had a fumble recovery and return for 71 yards for a touchdown also against the Cowboys in a 21-7 Giants loss.

“It was the defense that closed a Cowboy lead to 14& #8208;7 in the third quarter on Roy Hilton's 71& #8208;yard run with a fumble by Calvin Hill after a jarring tackle by John Mendenhall...”
