To the game. 4-6 inches of snow forecasted for today.
Lots of variables, but one key I think is that the game comes down to the Colts OL and trying to keep the Chiefs O off the field.
With the Chiefs D is disarray this is a very winnable game for the Colts with how well they’ve been playing.
Should be fun though...
Snow and cold will impact Cheifs more even at home.
Luck with protection looks like the best QB in the NFL.
You really believe a dome team will be impacted less by snow and cold than a team who isn't a dome team?
I'd think KC is just a bit more used to weather than a Dome team, and I'd be surprised if the Colts can operate at the same level they did last week in another Dome.

I have no idea but I'd bet it was more likely they have considering where they play and having Denver in their Division. As opposed to Indy who has two Domes in theirs plus Jax and Tenn.
I don't see how playing all year in an outdoor stadium in a cold weather city is somehow a disadvantage when it comes to playing in the cold or snow. To me common sense says they're likely less to be affected than a team who plays at least nine games a year inside plus one more in Florida.

I think it mostly has to do with the style both teams play. It will be much more difficult for Mahomes to through the ball all over creation with 4-6 inches of snow coming down. Slowing the game down will definitely play into the Colts hand since the KC D is so weak.
The weather will dramatically limit the Chiefs passing attack, which Â
is their major strength. Limiting the game ot primarily a low scoring, running affair helps the Colts. I like th Colts OL and running game as much or better than the Chiefs, and I certainly like the Colts D better than the Chiefs.
I like Luck and I like Frank Reich. Main reason is Quentin Nelson. He was favorite player in the draft along with Barkley. He is a man child! Number 56!!!
Remember, KC was ahead of Indy 38-10 in 2013... and Indy won.
Of course, that was IN Indy - and Alex Smith was under center for KC. But - with the Kool Aid man on the sideline, it's going to take more than 14 points to declare this one over.
IND has to come up with some sort of defensive momentum changer, though. If KC gets into the endzone again here, it might get away from them before they can get back in it.
Damien Williams has played well in relief of Hunt. I thought he was a nice player in Miami. He's not going to confuse anyone for an elite, stud RB - but he's made a lot of plays for them over the last month or so.
That's the momentum changer Indy needed. We have a game again.
Very well could be but they're gonna need another big stop here. If KC scores going in they take that Mo right back. Plus I believe KC gets the ball after half.
They're having a hell of a time trying to cover Kelce.
Nothing is working.
I like how KC is motioning Hill one way and bringing Kelce across to the other side away from the flow. It's like he's getting at least a one step head start on the Indy LBs. Really good play design.

Andy's play design is top notch. He's masterful at pushing play flow to one side and utilizing misdirection. Fantastic offensive mind - one of the best ever.
Dontrelle Inman seems to show up every time I watch Indy. He's not a big time player by any means, but he always seems to make 1-2 plays in each game where you notice him.
are usually misleading. Come playoff time the slate is wiped clean and it’s single elimination. KC has enough pass rushers to change any game, and their offense can do the rest. They’ve been all over Luck.
what the criticism is of the Chiefs D. They have a lot of talent up front and they play like savages.
They gave up the 2nd most yarda in all of football. They weren't good at all.
Mahomes has kept people from talking about it.
Their defense played well today - no doubt - but there's a reason why they were being criticized. They sucked this year. Gave up a lot of points and a ton of yards.
When you take a dome team out of the dome. Luck is having a REALLY tough time with the elements. As much crap as we give Macadoo, he was spot on about Mahomes.
spent a majority of his career as a Colt? 20 years from now, I'm going to probably remember him just as that Patriots kicker who made all those big kicks.
Comment about Eli’s arm strength — Luck’s is substantially worse.
Have you watched him at all this year? Your comments make it sound like this is the first time you've seen him play this season.
He's been one of the best QB's in the entire league.
It's possible he's dealing with arm fatigue. He hasn't played a full season in two years and threw nearly 650 passes this season.
His arm strength was fine this year. He's having a tough time today. It happens.
Yea I’ve watched him — and I don’t see some generational talent.
Well, he's one of the best QB's in the game now. So, you can use whichever arbitrary metric you'd like to discredit him, but the reality is that he had a great season when people were wondering if he'd ever even play football again just one year ago.
Luck is a tremendous QB. I guess anyone who isn't generational "sucks" or something, but to each their own.
There are about 25+ teams in the NFL that would gladly give up their QB for Luck if they could.

I thought playing outside today would have a bad effect on the Colts but was told it would hurt the Chiefs and their O more.
It's too little too late, but Luck really isn't getting any help from these guys. Ebron had a shot at one before the half that he flubbed... two more drops right in the EZ on this drive too.

Luck was a liability today vs a bad defense. I never said he sucks, but it’s not like the Colts have an edge over the league bc they have Luck and the opponent doesn’t.

The Colts don't have an edge over anyone because they have Luck?
What am I reading here?
They have one of the best QB's in football. Teams trip over themselves year after year trying to get a player like him.
KC is one of the only teams in football that Indy could go head to head with and not have the best QB on the field.
He didn't play that well today - he also had a lot of dropped passes that should have been caught.
The argument isn't about whether or not he's generational - I don't know how we got there. Just kept seeing silly comments about his "shitty rotator cuff" and how his arm strength is worse than Eli's and was wondering where they were coming from when the guy had such a great year and should be a lock to win Comeback Player of the Year.

Chiefs D played lights out today.
Chiefs D can rush the passer and that’s it. Luck played like shit today.
It's too little too late, but Luck really isn't getting any help from these guys. Ebron had a shot at one before the half that he flubbed... two more drops right in the EZ on this drive too.
They need to prioritize WR this yeah, IMO. Hilton just isn't a #1 WR and his size is a problem in games like this. Luck really needs a true #1 with decent size, IMO.
Damien Williams rushed for 129 yards and they had absolutely no answer for Travis Kelce.
Mahomes actually wasn't much better than Luck was today, but his defense was.
Indy had a few small windows where they could have gotten back into the game. But between the drops, the missed kick, and the inability to cash in, they couldn't get back within striking distance to make KC sweat.
you don't sound very intelligent when it comes to Luck. Did you lose a bet or something?
Almost every team that doesn't have Luck wishes they did, and if he's better than most of the other QB's in the NFL, how is that not an advantage?
Your arguments make absolutely zero sense. After his big injury he only comes back to toss almost 40 TDs and 4600 yards. I'd sign up for 75% of that production let alone 100% of it. They also had the best 3rd down conversion % in the NFL, is that because Luck is just an alright player? Their offense was highly efficient this year, there's nothing you can point to to discredit that.
It's too little too late, but Luck really isn't getting any help from these guys. Ebron had a shot at one before the half that he flubbed... two more drops right in the EZ on this drive too.

Hilton just seems to have such high volatility. He goes on these elite tears where he's unstoppable, and then he will disappear or be a non factor.
He also seems to be a completely different WR with and without Luck. A guy like Hopkins, for instance, seems to always be the same guy regardless of his QB. Obviously the better the QB is, the more opportunities he'll get - but he's been far more consistent.
I would agree that the next thing IND needs is WR help. The depth behind Hilton is poor, too. Moncrief never panned out there and is in JAX now.
Inman makes some nice plays, but he's not a guy you rely on week in and week out. He's just a depth guy.

Holy shit! If you came away from watching that game that it was due to Luck, then clearly you have no idea what you saw.
Dropped passes, missed kicks, 129 yards rushing by Williams. Just to name a few...
How blowhard Boomer spins this one come Monday morning? No doubt he's going to praise his buddy, the Colts having a fantastic year and their bright future.
I'm sure he'll kill their D too but guaranteed he'll deflect away from how shitty the Colts played today and say something like they held Mahomes without a TD pass. Lol
Nothing going forward is ever guaranteed, and the Colts needed to capitalize on their chance this year but instead they played like this game was house money IMO.
they weren't better than KC in the regular season and they weren't better today. Their Defense, despite the good season still needs work, and they desperately need another WR. They are set up nicely for the next few years, KC has been loading up for a while now and needs to win before having to pay Mahomes.
What's remarkable is that the Colts have put together a pretty nice foundation despite having to pay Luck, and they've done it quickly. 2 years ago, heck even last year, their talent was among the worst in the NFL.

Well he didn’t throw a TD in only one other game this year. You can ignore the fact that Chiefs D played lights out and the dropped passes/ missed kicks all you want, but it doesn’t make it any less true.

No question but he also guided his team up and down the field in the first half and the Colts couldn't stop them.
I pointed out a few Colts pluses from this game I'm sure Boomer will use but my main point is he'll spend more time deflecting away from the Colts actually you know... Losing a game they were never really even in.
Anything to fit his narrative and not admit he was wrong.
So i guess the Chiefs D had nothing to do with it. Just the colts ineptitude.
Lol
Do you have understanding how unlikely 0 for 9 is?
Sure, the Chiefs had something to do with it. But the Colts and Luck have to make a play. You can't be shut out on third down. I don't think that's unreasonable. The Chiefs aren't the 2000 Ravens.
So, yes, ineptitude.
LeBron at the game, I wonder who he’s rooting for?! Â
Lots of variables, but one key I think is that the game comes down to the Colts OL and trying to keep the Chiefs O off the field.
With the Chiefs D is disarray this is a very winnable game for the Colts with how well they’ve been playing.
Should be fun though...

You really believe a dome team will be impacted less by snow and cold than a team who isn't a dome team?
I'd think KC is just a bit more used to weather than a Dome team, and I'd be surprised if the Colts can operate at the same level they did last week in another Dome.
Nice! Very nice! :)

This is a fucking playoff game. Get your nose in there and hit someone.

He’s a wonderful, underrated C.
McAdoo: “Jerry, John, Ernie...we need to go for it and trade up to get into a spot for Mahomes. He’s the next great QB.”
All: “Shut up Ben. Eli is here for at least another five years.”
McAdoo (to himself): “Idiots.”

Still working on the Brissett angle, eh?
Tough day for Indy - but they're going to be really good next year.
They just haven't been able to capitalize any time they've had a small window to get back in it and it's getting late fast.
They are a good ascending group, they have a bright future, but a rough day.

They should be great for the foreseeable future. Good young core, a ton of cap room and a ton of picks this offseason.

Lol. Not really. Trying to get a rise out of B in Alb. But he’s not around
Luck was awesome, you are nowhere to be found. He’s having a rough day, you magically appear.
You suck worse; can we ban you?
They've been getting reffed good and hard like the Giants usually do
Well done, arc.
He’s probably too dumb to realize you’re mocking him.
It happens.
Stan usually bats around 1.000 when being wrong but RG3 being better than Luck still takes the cake.
Stan usually bats around 1.000 when being wrong but RG3 being better than Luck still takes the cake.
And right after Stan's latest stupid remark, Luck throws a gorgeous TD.
Classic.
They gave up the 2nd most yarda in all of football. They weren't good at all.
Mahomes has kept people from talking about it.
Their defense played well today - no doubt - but there's a reason why they were being criticized. They sucked this year. Gave up a lot of points and a ton of yards.
Actually, he’s been pedestrian today. No throwing TD’s
They haven’t needed him to be a superstar, though.
If that bullshit call was against the Giants I mightve tossed my TV out the front window

Just a general question. He's certainly thrown enough TDs all season long, and this game has literally never been in doubt for KC.

Comment about Eli’s arm strength — Luck’s is substantially worse.

Yea I’ve watched him — and I don’t see some generational talent.

Weird question to ask in a game where he hasn’t done much of anything..

I was saying last year the Jets should've tried to trade for him if it was at all feasible

Who said he’s a “generational talent”?
The comment was he’s was one of the best QB’s this season. That statement is 100% true.
I thought playing outside today would have a bad effect on the Colts but was told it would hurt the Chiefs and their O more.
I guess not.

Yeaaaa this didn’t age well lmao!!

What's remarkable is that the Colts have put together a pretty nice foundation despite having to pay Luck, and they've done it quickly. 2 years ago, heck even last year, their talent was among the worst in the NFL.
Hard to even sniff a W with that ineptitude.

Well he didn’t throw a TD in only one other game this year. You can ignore the fact that Chiefs D played lights out and the dropped passes/ missed kicks all you want, but it doesn’t make it any less true.

So i guess the Chiefs D had nothing to do with it. Just the colts ineptitude.
