Patrick Mahomes was great. The Chiefs were and are superior. I thought the Chiefs defense really stepped up and played better than they had all year. All that said... I thought Luck played poorly yesterday. It wasn't mentioned on the broadcast, so maybe I'm just being too critical. He seemed off and didn't get any criticism on the broadcast or even in the print media this morning as far as I can tell.
Rate the QB play from yesterday:
Mahomes, Goff, Dak... and a distant 4th... Luck.
Yeah, the pressure was a surprise... Colts OL had performed great all year and was a huge story line heading into the game. Credit to Bob Sutton's defense for a great plan and to the players for great execution.
He also has the worst group of pass-catchers among playoff teams.
Agree, he looked like crap and this is the reason why. He was harassed and the Colts were physically whooped up front.
Then when plays were there to be made, there were drops. Even though they were a dome squad, I thought they would respond better to the elements than the Chiefs. I was dead wrong on that one. Colts are going to be a force too I think, so I don't think this will be the last battle of these two QB'S.
Chiefs look real good.
Colts had a nice bounceback year after a great draft. They overachieved and should be content with how far they went.
Luck is a very good QB.
Hilton is good. Ebron was a bust before joining Luck. And some guy named Marlon Mack is his RB.
Give me Andrew luck any day of the week.
Wow, really? Mahomes is incapable of leading Colts to the playoffs?

That's ridiculous.

I like Luck a lot but this is a really dumb post.

Dep026 is the king of hyperbole.. The Colts don’t make the playoffs with Mahomes a great player in his own right.. lol at that ridiculous comment
I expect them to be very good next year - but their D and even their offense isn't going to scare great teams. The Giants had them beat late in the year and should've won the game. Wasn't all that impressed with them then.
Gee, where else have I seen that?
Define “when it counted”. All of his playoff losses were on the road in cold weather, against teams that were better, including the Pats x2. I’d have to look it up but the Colts were probably never favored in any of his playoff losses. And his first 3 trips to the playoffs he took a team that had no business going and actually had some success.
He looked worse than Peyton Manning Denver Broncos edition.

You sound so dumb, consistently. You provide nothing at all, you say a guy sucks and I guess that’s it. I am an admitted Luck fan but it isn’t irrational, he’s really good player who should be even better next year.
So if thinking he’s one of the top QBs in the league makes me a fan boy, so he. It’s better than sounding like an uneducated moron.

You have some of the oddest assessments of QB play of anyone I have ever seen. I think it's fair to say this is an opinion very much in the minority of most.

That said, WHEN has he come up big when it counted?

Clutch QBs win on the road in the playoffs, inclement weather included. Eli, Rodgers, Brady, Ben and so on..The excuses for Luck are selective. The Giants certainly had no “business” going.
He probably started to wear down a bit and he hadn't played a cold weather game in a long time.
He wasn't "awful" at all - Mahomes didn't do much more than he did. The difference is that the Colts defense couldn't stop Damien Williams or figure out how to cover Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill.
Luck also was victimized by several drops. Ebron had a shot at that ball in the endzone before half. Another gimmie TD was dropped near the end of the game and Hilton had one or two drops that could have been caught.
Off day - big deal. Guy is a great QB and I'd kill to have him.

Yeah, bizarre, baseless arguments. Nothing but hyperbolic bullshit. Terrible poster.
By the way...
"Peyton Manning Denver Broncos Edition" (sounds like a Matchbox car or something...) was pretty fucking good for the majority of his time there. 3 of his 4 seasons as a Bronco were fantastic. So, you might want to re-think that critique.
And if the insinuation was that Luck looked like the version that threw 9 TD's and got picked off 17 times as a passenger on a defense-centric football team in his final season, that might be an even worse take.
Brutal.

I don’t disagree but there’s still more to it. Did the Colts pass rush show up like the Giants? Did the Colts WRs show up like Nicks/Plax?
Context is huge, and I don’t think Luck has ever had the players to get over the jump like other road underdogs.
He also has the worst group of pass-catchers among playoff teams.
Funny after a few minutes I knew my colts pick was way off based on the colts passing game, notably the receivers themselves. You just knew early on the colts had no chance in this game. The colts fixed the ol and D but they were still basically a one man show for most of the season and it came back to bite them yesterday,

It's hilarious. People have a really hard time grasping the concept of sample size.
Give KC credit to a degree, but Luck has to deliver more. That’s his job.
I really like him. I think it’s great he’s back. So I will focus on the entirety of the season when thinking about his year.
But, again, he didn’t deliver yesterday and deserves blame.
QB that needs a few more pieces and some help on the
O-line . He had an off game and no run game to keep
the pressure off . Question is if he is damaged goods
from the injuries . KC is a well coached team with plenty
of talent in the secondary .When your playing with onr
arm tied behind your back No run game and piss poor pass
protection playing in Arrowhead tough place to win period .
The first convincing football point you make will be the first.
Criticizing a guy for having a "shitty rotator cuff," calling people fanboys, and utilizing gross hyperbole as an argument tactic isn't how you do it.

Understood. Just answering your question about how I define clutch or coming up big
The comeback against KC in the playoffs in 2013 was pretty impressive. They were down 38-10 and won 45-44. He threw for 443 yards and 4 TD's that day. I'd say that's coming up big when it counts, no?
Look - one year ago, there was serious question as to whether or not Andrew Luck was ever even going to play football again. He not only played this year - but he threw nearly 40 TD passes, threw for 4500 yards, posted the best completion percentage of his career and had a season that was pretty much on par with the best one in his career to date (2014).
What he did this year was pretty damn good all things considered.
