Patrick Mahomes was great. The Chiefs were and are superior. I thought the Chiefs defense really stepped up and played better than they had all year. All that said... I thought Luck played poorly yesterday. It wasn't mentioned on the broadcast, so maybe I'm just being too critical. He seemed off and didn't get any criticism on the broadcast or even in the print media this morning as far as I can tell.
Rate the QB play from yesterday:
Mahomes, Goff, Dak... and a distant 4th... Luck.

That said, WHEN has he come up big when it counted?
The comeback against KC in the playoffs in 2013 was pretty impressive. They were down 38-10 and won 45-44. He threw for 443 yards and 4 TD's that day. I'd say that's coming up big when it counts, no?
Look - one year ago, there was serious question as to whether or not Andrew Luck was ever even going to play football again. He not only played this year - but he threw nearly 40 TD passes, threw for 4500 yards, posted the best completion percentage of his career and had a season that was pretty much on par with the best one in his career to date (2014).
What he did this year was pretty damn good all things considered.
Yes, that was big
His motion has changed - I agree. It looks like he gets to these moments where he is pushing/guiding the ball, not ripping through it. But I think he just needs more time. He's been through an extensive rehab/ My guess is he'll have more fluidity next year. But it's an interesting observation nonetheless...

Define “when it counted”. All of his playoff losses were on the road in cold weather, against teams that were better, including the Pats x2. I’d have to look it up but the Colts were probably never favored in any of his playoff losses. And his first 3 trips to the playoffs he took a team that had no business going and actually had some success.
Clutch QBs win on the road in the playoffs, inclement weather included. Eli, Rodgers, Brady, Ben and so on..The excuses for Luck are selective. The Giants certainly had no “business” going.
He won in Denver, which was the two seed that year - I believe it was snowing or at least the conditions were poor, the year of deflategate.
And he won in Houston last week too.
It had to, he didn’t look like this last week.

It looked like he was pushing the ball, he really wasn't the same QB. I wonder if the cold was affecting his shoulder.

Or throughout the season. He was a completely different QB and that was a completely different ball he was throwing. I was kind of surprised that they weren't mentioning it during the broadcast.
Probably thinking more about Rivers than Luck..🙂😊
You're right, Eli has never looked that bad.
He's looked worse - on many occasions.
Some of the people here are just so beyond clueless. It blows my fucking mind.

People complain about Eli but he's never looked THAT bad. In fact, I wouldn't take Luck off their hands in a straight up swap for Eli right now today. He was pathetic.

Selective amnesia. Eli played 2 hideous playoff games, both at home - against Carolina in 2006 and the Eagles in 2008.
Less than 300 yards TOTAL, ZERO TDs and 5 INTs combined.

Eli had a worse game than Luck had yesterday as recently as like one month ago against Tennessee.
Just a mind blowing comment.
You'd think Luck turned the ball over 4 times reading this nonsense.
Yep, you got me - I'm a registered Eli "hater" and a lowlife because I called out your horseshit post.
I figure you'd maybe counter with a football point if there were any - but since there aren't and your comment was that ridiculous, you're predictably resorting to name calling.
The idea that you'd take Eli Manning over Andrew Luck in 2019 either tells me you're a troll or simply don't understand anything about football.
Instead of telling me I hate Eli or telling me I should go pound sand, maybe you should try to back up your argument with something of substance.
(You won't because it's not an argument that can be made right now. No NFL GM would agree with you. Not one.)

Doesn’t make the playoffs...
Wow, really? Mahomes is incapable of leading Colts to the playoffs?
Well that's the luxury of relying entirely upon a hypothetical to forward an argument: you can't disprove him.
You can only counter with another hypothetical: if Mahomes were the QB of the Giants, they'd still be playing.
You can go gargle mayonnaise. Luck will never win a ring. Eli has proven that he gets the job done when given the chance. Look at the last playoff game 2016 in Green Bay where he was the only Giant to show up. You idiots go on thinking what you want. Eli has the rings. Luck is garbage.
So are your football posts.
Grow up.

"WHAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! You don't know anything about football." LOL Give me a break you pathetic fucking loser. Go get yourself a pacifier.
Grow up.
Go pound sand in your ass
You seem like a really angry, aggressive person.
There are a lot of really great therapists out there now - there are even apps like TalkSpace that allow you to talk to someone from home using the convenience of your smart phone.
I'm not being facetious or being a dick - I'm actually being serious. I know I poked at your post first, but I invited you to actually back up your point like an adult and you doubled down on the insults.
I'm not interested in going down that road, but I do sincerely hope things get better for you.

He would be putting up insane number like mahomes did. Are we really arguing that Indy had better weapons around Luck than KC did with Mahomes.
Switch them and Luck would be putting up the insane numbers Mahomes did and most likely be MVP. People dismissing my opinion is fine. It’s BBI. Looking at surrounding talent is rarely done here.

There isn’t a single person who thinks Luck has even average weapons around him, let alone what Mahomes has. You are dismissing how good Mahomes is, which is really odd but not surprising. I remember one of his Monday night games where he wasn’t playing out of this world, and instead was average, and you were beating him down constantly.
My issues were your comments on Mahomes, not what you said about Luck.
The fact that Luck might be injured crossed my mind, more than once.

I am thinking Mahomes would have struggled more than people realize with less than stellar people around. And remember Indy OLine struggled to start the year. Maybe Mahomes overcomes? But I’ll play the percentages that a young QB would have taken some major lumps with what Luck endured this year.
