That this game will bizarrely be used as evidence that Rivers is a playoff choker in the future.
Rivers will be 5-6 in the playoffs after this game. Neither a choker nor a standout in the postseason.
loved calling defensive secondary penalties in the regular season. I know this isn't his crew, but those calls led to two TD's
It is not like they weren't there. They were penalties.
Just wondering why they didn't call the Pats when Rivers got flattened on the delay of game penalty - whistle had been blown for a while.
They missed at least one blatant one on a Pats DB and that's where I have a problem. Either call them or don't but it has to be the same way for both teams.
Didn't see it. Again, the ones they called were legit and they should have called the Pats for the roughing the passer on that delay of game play. And that is why Rivers is bitching.
When a team is winning, no one cares about the extra stuff.
Look at how much dirt came out on Antonio Brown the second the Steelers missed the playoffs.
This is the first time in 5 years that PIT has been out. Not a coincidence that a laundry list of shit on AB came out right when the season ended for them.
It's the same deal with Beckham. When the team loses and sucks, everyone keys in on every little thing he does. Celebrations, sideline antics... whatever.. and makes a big deal out of it.
People suddenly stop caring about that stuff when you're winning games. Winning players are "fiery," losing players are "crybabies" or "throwing tantrums."

Because people just default assign blame to QB's - context be damned.
I see it all the time here. People pick and choose players they want to come up with arguments against and go this lazy route when they have nothing else.

"The team lost so player X must suck"
Really it's because so many still have a crush on Rivers it's hard to resist the fun.
Frankly he looks shot to me his arm is nowhere near what it was.
Instead of deferring the opening KO and receiving. That first opening long scoring drive over half the qtr, and putting 7 on board at end..Set the tone of this game

He's never had a big arm. It doesn't look much different to me.
I'm not a huge Rivers guy, but his defense gave him no chance today. The Patriots are on pace for 70 points.
Think about that...
What a dud of a game.

Thus the adverb "bizarrely."
By people respect and listen to Brady, HUGE difference. Rivers is a pathetic choke artist loser

But so does Brady. No one says a thing.

You don’t think people on the chargers respect Rivers?

Hard to blame Rivers when his defense can’t stop New England.
The difference between winning and losing.
When a team is winning, no one cares about the extra stuff.

Really good point.

Chiefs - Pats will be a heck of a game next weekend though.

I'll take Eli and his MVP performances against the Pats any day.
Perhaps this result isn't a complete shocker.
Pats took the ball to start the game with the sole intention of wearing out the Chargers defense from the start and run about 70 to 80 plays.
They succeeded.
Rivers clearly frustrated, understandably so.
Yet the announcers are sympathizing with how it’s the rest of his teams fault

Yeah but if the Pats put up 35 in a half, his performances wouldn't have helped much.

You make it sound as though that is unreasonable in this case.

I know it's a nit pick and he meant well but man you talk for a living and have to do better than that on such a sensitive and tragic topic IMO.

Plays half his games for most of his career in the most perfect weather in the US
The Pats collect tough guys like Gronk, Edelman and Amendola.
Indeed. When I referred to people blaming Rivers in the future, I didn't mean "ten minutes from now."
