Jags Looking to Trade for a QB

nyjuggernaut2 : 1/13/2019 12:22 pm
Jason LaConfora just reported on CBS. He mentioned Flacco and Tannehill as possible options, but wonder if Eli would be considered with his ties to TC. Wonder what Jags would be willing to give up for him?
A 4th or 5th probably for Eli
Big Blue '56 : 1/13/2019 12:28 pm : link
I wouldn’t trade for a Flacco or RT
I highly doubt Eli is on there list ....
Bluesbreaker : 1/13/2019 12:36 pm : link
They will ship half there draft to the Eagles for Foles
and regret it ...
20 Million
Simms : 1/13/2019 12:40 pm : link
Eagles are going to pay Foles 20 million and keep Weinz.

Foles can walk and sign with who he wants.
correction
Simms : 1/13/2019 12:41 pm : link
Eagles are NOT going to sign Foles for 20 million ..

Rosen?
Foles may be traded
GeoMan999 : 1/13/2019 12:46 pm : link
Eagles have the option to franchise him and trade him during a short one week window.

That is guranteed not to happen. 30 million price tag and giving up draft picks for Nick Foles when the team trading for him as all the leverage. That is insanity. Look for them to trade for a Jacoby Brisset type.
Foles
mdthedream : 1/13/2019 12:53 pm : link
is a free agent.
Smart move for a team that's built to win now.
Strahan91 : 1/13/2019 12:53 pm : link
They don't have time to develop someone like a Haskins or Lock. By then Ramsey, Jack, Ngakoue, etc will all need to be paid. Not to mention Campbell's age. They could do both I suppose but it doesn't leave much room for improving their OL and getting some skill position players which they so desperately need.
Foles
mdthedream : 1/13/2019 1:02 pm : link
as a free agent is a great fit.
Fitzepatrick
mdthedream : 1/13/2019 1:02 pm : link
could also be a great fit.

LaConfora is ALWAYS wrong. Until someone who has actual sources and credibility reports it, this is BS.
so, the eagles are going to trade
japanhead : 1/13/2019 1:11 pm : link
away their superbowl winning MVP qb, who miraculously brought them from back from the brink of irrelevancy this season when the highly touted wentz went on IR with yet another injury, to roll with the oft-injured wentz as their unquestionable future? have at it eagles!.. foles is the only QB they've won anything with.. they'd be smarter to deal wentz IMO, especially after how impotent he looked this year as the season progressed..
Folds would make more sense
jeff57 : 1/13/2019 1:12 pm : link
Tannehill sucks. Flacco, maybe. Unless Raiders want to deal Carr.
again
mdthedream : 1/13/2019 1:16 pm : link
he is a free agent.
We should make it worth their while
Jimmy Googs : 1/13/2019 1:16 pm : link
to take Eli...
They would be
mdthedream : 1/13/2019 1:17 pm : link
idiots to trade Wentz and keep foles there starter for entire season. They can find another backup.
.
arcarsenal : 1/13/2019 1:22 pm : link
JAX would be very stupid to give up anything for any of those QB's. Foles would be a better option for them - I wouldn't even love that, but it's definitely better than Flacco or Tannehill. I'd even take Foles over Eli right now.
Coughlin Trading Up
Samiam : 1/13/2019 1:28 pm : link
He’ll move to get Haskins and I think he’ll go for the #1 pick. He’s not going for a Flacco & his Cap hit
Foles could do well again
GeorgeAdams33 : 1/13/2019 1:36 pm : link
The Eagles could win it all again (cringing at the thought)

The Eagles could decide to sign Foles & trade Wentz for a boatload

They could get the #7 pick plus future picks that they could use to get a young QB in 2020 if they wanted one. Foles would be a legend in Philly if he pulls it off. You couldn't just let him walk after that.

generally wrong about most things
Okay
Eli owns all : 1/13/2019 2:38 pm : link
Simple stuff on foles. He has a 20 million contract. He can decline which he would have to pay them 2 mil which is a no brainer for him. That would then make foles a free agent only when this happens.

They can slap the franchise tag on him after that. They won’t because that would be stupid. But they can
Doesn't hurt for us to make a call....

A 4th or 5th?? LOL.

If the Jags are dumb enough to do that for an immobile 38 year old QB who hears the ghosts then that would be quite extraordinary.

I would be stunned if we could get any pick for him...

Correct. I think they offer him a 2/40 contract. Question is this is Foles last pay day he prob gets 4/80 on the open market. I would not hate Nick Foles as our qb. I just don’t like this years qb class at all. Eagles take a risk by franchising him as that will take up a good portion of their salary cap if no one trades for him.

He can be franchised and traded

During a five day window. Does not mean they would get a high pick. Counld be a 3rd-4th rounder.
