Philly-area folks, could you recommend a couple/few good smaller music venues I could look into for March events? Looking for something along the lines of the Paramount in Huntington (Long Island) or the State Theater in Ithaca.
I saw some incredible shows with crowds from 70,000 to a few hundred. I'll stick to the small ones.
Trocadero - i saw Neil Young there. It wasn't advertised as a Neil Young show, but a buddy and I figured it out. Got seats in balcony about 12 ft from Neil.
23 East Caberet - speaking of buddy, i saw Buddy Guy and Ron Wood at 23 East (separate shows).
Tower Theater- a little larger than ones above. Saw Pete Townshend there.
Electric Factory - saw World Party there.
There's a place a little further west on the mainline (near Villanova) where I saw NRBQ. (was standing close to a speaker; hearing in left ear never quite the same).
Jack Bruce on New Year's eve
King Crimson
Frank Zappa
Bob Dylan w/ Jerry Garcia Band
Todd Rungren
and I can't even remember who else. what a great place to watch concerts.
