Jones, do yourself a favor and watch two games from last year:
Clemson and Wake.
I added Wake because I'm sure there will be a crowd that will say, "Everyone will look bad against Clemson", but he was waxed 59-7 vs. Wake and was a large reason why. His ball in person doesn't look all that impressive. I saw Dungey look much better throwing the ball. Even Newman from Wake looked better throwing the ball. Jones also has under 60% completion rate for his career.

I watched both those games & he had a bad game. I think people have a tendency to react positive/negative based on a game or 2. prime example is Tua Last year, too bad he can't turn pro-this year,WTF happened he looks horrible Lawrence is this years' flavor but God forbid he falters next season.Just the way it goes. Surround Jones with quality personnel & he can be as good as the other 2 I mentioned. Duke's O line & skill people were sub-par.
You wouldn't see nearly as much cheerleading for Jones here.
Not cheerleading, just basing it on the games I watched & I tried to watch all the games of all the QBs that we might take.I like Jones a lot & I do believe his ranking as a QB will rise considerably come draft day!
by Jones. But I saw him play twice in person and there were glaring things that stood out.
It certainly could just be a couple of bad games, but we're talking about a guy under 60% completions for his career and who had 14 TD's with 11 INT's his sophomore season.
Both are red flags that aren't just based on a one or two game snapshot. When his passes looked less crisp and slower than Wake's QB, that's close to a deal-breaker. Against Lawrence, it was understandable.
The game vs UVA is available on YouTube, at least in a Jones cut up v.
That's the one that buried him for me to day 3 status. I wouldn't be so harsh vs Clemson or Bama.
Nothing conclusive, he played well considering what was given to him. His wrs certainly did not make plays and he was under duress. Of course he was not able to elevate them but there were dropped passes and batted balls. Going to have to watch the WF game

Quote:
He has Jones at 23 (Haskins at 14)
So he is a first rounder now. Do not seeing us taking him that high unless ELI is history and we have a secret plan to get another QB.
