I asked In the game thread, really curious of the answers..not sure that's a good place for answers..

Did we start this trend back In the "Nascar" days....or has this always been a thing?
Think about what they do

All game....all season.. smashing into the best 320 lber athletes on the planet, getting held, eyes gouged, tripped, balzacks kneed.

You need a bunch of em.

Additionally, you've got a cool system that can do a variety of things up there, this isn't line up and play draw it up in the dirt stuff.

Ergo, you can use both variety in front 3 and multiply skilled unit players.
If you have 1 that can do legit

Zero duty (straight up on the center) and also quick step into gaps and rush...and / or 1 that can play anywhere even on the 'end'...then you can switch shiznit, gap assignments, up.

If you can switch up gap assignments in a prescribed manner, then you can blitz an olb through any gap....on any down...

If you can run / pass rush an lb ...through any gap... on any down without loosing any integrity vs runs, then you can wreck shit.
We had defensively awesome rotations in the 80s too
