Hypothetical: would you trade #6 overall for Wentz?

Vin_Cuccs : 1/13/2019 9:00 pm
Let’s say Philadelphia wants to keep Foles.

Would you trade #6 to Philadelphia for Wentz? Would that be enough?

Just an interesting hypothetical.
If healthy,

in a heartbeat
I would trade the 6th and a 2nd next year

for Wentz.

Honestly, no - I don't think I would. I think he's going to be one of those guys who has a hard time staying on the field.

Plus, he's already 3 years into his rookie deal - so, we'd have to extend and pay him within a couple years which, again, is very risky.

I just don't trust him to hold up. Besides, I can't see NYG/PHI making this type of deal with each other. I know it's just hypothetical, but there's a much higher probability of the Giants just signing Nick Foles (which I'd hate, personally..)

Eh, sure, why not?

Hypothetically, yes. My only question about Wentz is his durability.
Idk

I would rather see us draft our next QB.
philly
hassan : 1/13/2019 9:06 pm : link
would ask for more
It’s funny the different perspectives..
Sean : 1/13/2019 9:07 pm : link
I had a buddy of mine whose an Eagle fan say the price would be Saquon & 2 firsts for Wentz.

LOL in his dreams. If I'm trading Saquon *and* 2 firsts, I want a 24 year old Peyton Manning.

That's funny. It's like when Giants fans want two first rounders for Beckham. Crazy talk.

I would not trade that pick for Wentz. I'd rather just draft Haskins. And I don't love his game.

arcarsenal : 1/13/2019 9:09 pm : link
And yeah, the Eagles would absolutely want more from NYG than just 6 overall. They'd want more than that from an AFC team - so they'd really drive up the price for us, I'm sure.

Wentz was awesome last year before he got hurt - but this is two years in a row now he hasn't been able to finish the season. He has now missed 8 games in the last 2 years.

He's also a little older than the typical 3rd year rookie - he's already 26.

it’s not unreasonable
hassan : 1/13/2019 9:10 pm : link
to ask for more than one first rounder for a known quantity at qb. even if injury prone.
Eagles
spike : 1/13/2019 9:15 pm : link
will want TWO first rounders and more for Wentz
No.
St. Jimmy : 1/13/2019 9:22 pm : link
Guy is always hurt. He was great last year with a great running game and line against bad to mediocre competition.
He's more than worth it...
BillKo : 1/13/2019 9:25 pm : link
......but I doubt either team would do it, more so the Eagles.

Simply because they could be seeing him in division for the next 10 years and that wouldn't sit well with anyone involved with the Eagles.............

You can give your divisional rivals a player that plays the most important position in sports, esp with his talent.
No way
WillVAB : 1/13/2019 9:30 pm : link
He’s on the Tony Romo career track.
I would make that trade...
bw in dc : 1/13/2019 9:32 pm : link
arc does raise a good counter about his health.

But it would be worth the stretch. The guy is more athletic, fitter Ben Roethlisberger.

He was going to be the MVP last year. That’s not easy talent to find.

If Foles had taken them all the way
Vanzetti : 1/13/2019 9:33 pm : link
They would probably have looked to move Wentz. But not now. Wentz is their QB

And like Arc said, it would take way more than the sixth pick
You'd have to send in some that gas used in the movie Batman
ghost718 : 1/13/2019 9:35 pm : link
In order for Philly to agree
I’d trade that pick
family progtitioner : 1/13/2019 9:39 pm : link
And next years first
In a heartbeat
MetsAreBack : 1/13/2019 9:43 pm : link
This years and next.

But that + saquon is too much IMO and I'm guessing their asking price would be 3 ones or the equivalent of

Trading Wentz to a division rival? What kind of happy horseshit is this delusional fantasy?

How about Bill Belichick for a signed Ernie Accorsi toupee?

Reality is a good place folks.
yeah no crap
hassan : 1/13/2019 9:59 pm : link
it’s not happening. and those saying no, the Giants would be so lucky.....
.....
Micko : 1/13/2019 10:12 pm : link
Never happen but I’d trade the house. At least 2 first round picks.
Nope
UConn4523 : 1/13/2019 10:15 pm : link
I don’t think he’s long for this league.
yeah the Eagles will trade Wentz to us...
EricJ : 1/13/2019 10:19 pm : link
right after we get (3) 1st round picks for OBJ

Based on talent - of course you do

However his medicals scream red flags. Would be a very risky move.
Definitely
Natek212 : 1/13/2019 10:54 pm : link
Not even a question. I'd even consider trading #6, and next years 1st for him.

Let's put it a different way. If Wentz was in this years draft and was available at #6, are you drafting him?
"Fantasy Trade"
Rafflee : 1/13/2019 11:12 pm : link
Eagles trade wentz to Raiders for multiple picks...Carr to Giants

I'm not even a Carr Fan|

Realistically, I believe Nick and Teddy B will be avaialable. I'd take Nick....I don't have any feel for Teddy.
No
Matt M. : 1/13/2019 11:50 pm : link
The only reason I say that is his health. He has had 2 season ending injuries the last 2 years. The knee should be healed, but the back worries me. Nobody seems to come back from the back injuries 100%.

Not if he has a back injury.
In a fffin heartbeat.

Iggles would want and get much, much more. Like 2# 1s and 2 #2s.

Silly question.

Two words: Rob Gronkowski.

And TE is much more physically demanding than QB.

I know your probably think that it was funny, but...it wasn’t.

Grow up
I'd give up our #1 and #2...

And then hold a very nice retirement party for Eli Manning.

First of all, Philly is NOT keeping Foles over Wentz.
Section331 : 1/14/2019 9:44 am : link
In the extremely remote chance they do decide to move Wentz, they are not trading him to the Giants. If you don't think there would be a line of suitors for Wentz, you are kidding yourself.

I get the injury thing, but I don't think it is predictive of the rest of his career. People said the same thing about Phil Simms early in his career. Wentz is a star, he can make throws Foles couldn't dream of making.
