Sources @TheAthleticNBA @WatchStadium: The Knicks are signing G League Westchester guard Kadeem Allen to a two-way NBA deal.
"Allen is known most for his defense after being named to the All-NBA G League Defensive Team last year, when he was with the Celtics affiliate. The Knicks brought him in this summer, and hes averaged 13.7 points on 46.8 percent shooting from the field with Westchester, with 5.2 rebounds and 5.7 assists in 30.7 minutes."-NYPOST
Burke, Herzonja we no risk moves that aren't impactful either way
Knox may be more than a double (encouraging play), Robinson as well
I don't see any expiring contracts on the roster that would yield greater than a 2
At some point, they'll need to have success in landing a big fish (be it Durant or other)
Have to hope Durant comes to NY and KP is back and better than ever. Its not impossible.
Add in Zion or RJ or Cameron with Knox and KP and now we have a team
Korkmaz would be an attractive piece; but as you suggest I really hope to sign NV
Add in Zion or RJ or Cameron with Knox and KP and now we have a team
Despite what he said about committing to Boston, I agree that KI is still in play for NYK
Again, as noted unless he would hold a grudge about being traded to a championship contender there is no "upside" to not trading him. He's a FA either way. Nothing stops you from bringing him back. If you can get a solid young piece you can have that piece AND attempt to resign Vonleh.
Hopefully a trade is coming soon.
if you can get one high second rounder...or two unprotected second rounders from somebody for Vonleh I think you consider it. Brooklyn somehow ended up with our 2019 second rounder. I wouldn't mind getting it back considering how bad we are.
any trades we make are most likely going to be about who we're sending out...not who we bring in.
london
They are playing in London
Correct. Knicks do not own his bird rights. It may even help the chances of bringing him back because they won't have to renounce his rights which leaves the options of signing him with cap space ( if they strike out on big FA) or by using the MLE once they go over the cap. Not 100% on this but I believe this is the case.
No, they had a two way deal to use after signing Trier to an NBA deal and waiving Baker.
it would basically be the Melo non-deal with them all over again. They don't have expirings, so they'd have to send salary somewhere else (e.g. Brandon Knight)...but nobody is taking on that deal unless they're getting assets, which Houston doesn't really have.
