Today is the last day that underclassmen can declare for the NFL Draft. I know Murray is the big name that most are waiting on. Does anybody else know who else could possibly declare today?
Was just reading Walterfootball's grades for underclassmen declaring. He gave Deionte Thompson an F and said that Thompson could possibly fall to the 3rd day. Also said Jonah Williams will be the 2nd OT taken behind the kid from Florida.
Not a fan. Instincts are questionable and not a good tackler. Wouldn't look at him before Round 4.
My fourth best player in the entire Draft. I would absolutely consider him at 6 if he's there.
Don't know much about him, but many like him more than Noah Fant. Very deep year for TEs
If we don't go QB give me Josh Allen or Devin White.

I'd rather have the higher rated D player than just an ER to fill a need but it would be great if the ER was the highest rated player on their board when it's their pick.

This.
Will be (at least) a top 5 backer. Does everything. At 240, moves like he is 215. VIOLENT.
He is exactly what this defense needs right now - a play maker all over the field.

Great minds think alike.
i love this kid. he plays seriously violent. reminds me of jarrad davis coming out. i think this kid will be better. he is fast for his size. i expect him to be a playmaker at the next level! would be happy with the pick at 6.
Gonna take a wild guess and say you're a fan of the team in Ann Arbor?

Sure am, and while we are at it, throw in Chase Winovich in the 4th round. In all seriousness, I think Gary is going to blow up the combine, and be taken before 6.

Gary will of course blow up the Combine. He's a freak athlete. Too bad his play didn't always reflect it.
And that includes DT.
Remember, the 'there are only so many on the planet' theory.
It's still not really a 4/3 due to how it's implemented.
A combination of the Giants second round pick and a 4th and/or 5th round pick would put the Giants in the last two to four spots of the first round where the Rams, Chiefs, Patriots, and Packers (from the Saints) will be sitting. The Chiefs traded away their 2nd and 3rd round picks, so they could be in the market for trading out of the 1st round and picking up additional picks.
Not only would the Giants get their QB of the future in such a scenario, but he would cost only $10M over the first four years and include a bargain-priced 5th year option. Drew Lock in particular would be a steal. Not since Andrew Luck has there been a QB to enter the league with a name like his!
You mean Miller has White as 4th best player? And what do you mean "in-Giant?"
It was almost a heresy under Jerry Reese, but under George Young and Parcells as coach the Giants loved drafting LBs with high draft picks, even when the LB position group was already the strongest one on the roster. We don't know yet what Gettlemen's tendencies will be, nor his preferences. He upset a lot of fans initially by drafting an RB at 2 overall, didn't he?
From the descriptions here, he sounds like the next Patrick Willis or Kuechely. I'd be down for that level ILB at 6 overall.

I think his play reflected it last year as a true sophomore. This year, he was in and out of the lineup because of an injury, and because of that injury, he didnt look right against Notre Dame on opening night, and he gets a bad rap for that.
He didnt have freakish numbers, but if you watched him play, his motor and speed will jump out at you. He is a difference maker.

I like QB's who have a body of work. This may not be the draft we take a QB an earlier than round 2.
Quote: Gettleman will take the best player available regardless of position. The combine brings useful information, yes, but to me it is all about reviewing the game tapes and how they did when they played equal or better personnel.

There are a few well regarded (by some) QBs with a serious body of work: Lock, Grier, and Jones to name 3.
The two QBs with only one year of work, blew the doors off their respective barns. A few of these guys will be 1st round picks, if not all of them. Most likely, it's a QB starved league.

At this point, I just don't know what to do. To move up with say the Jets and take Haskins, well, that would cost us a #1, #2 and other picks easy. Do we do that for a guy with one year under his belt? I'm just not sure.

We are picking early in the 2nd round. If a QB is available late round and he is "high" on our draft board, maybe we see a trade. Remember, we don't have a 3rd round pick so our 2nd and a few other picks would need to go. God forbid we miss! But God forbid we don't try either.

I agree it's not going to be a no brainer decision this year, as perhaps 2018 was. Lock has a gun and big upside and prototypical height. Grier has shown year over year improvement and at times looks like a young Joe Montana, very cool and quick to recognize where to distribute. Not a huge arm but enough, probably. Murray is a true wildcard, a more athletic Wilson V.2? Jones - not my choice and clearly needs developing, but size is there with some athleticism...
You don't want to reach for any of them, really. But you can't count on any of them getting past the Pats, either who need another Garapolo in the wings behind the GOAT.

Reese passed on Wagner. I pray Gettleman doesn't have the same
Positional blinders. They need top tier talent. White should be In the conversation.
@JReidNFL
#DraftNotes: Kentucky EDGE Josh Allen is from New Jersey and originally committed to Monmouth because his mom wanted him to stay closer to home. Rutgers was his dream school, but they felt that he wasnt good enough to play there. Mark Stoops quickly came in and stole him away.

Kyle Flood was better by the Montclair coach to give him a shot. Yeah

Devin White would definitely get serious consideration from me if he's there. He's awesome. I think he will be at that Kuechly & Bobby Wagner level.

I think NYG may be more inclined to go ILB now that they are a 3-4.
The question then is.. which one?
It's mildly amusing how the usual BPA crowd is talking QB at 6 right now..when nobody has those values at that position.
