In all fairness, as a Cuse fan, the reality is that Boeheim is the same way, as are virtually all college coaches.
Part of the job. You piss and moan about an easy call against your guys in the first two minutes, so that a marginal call might go your way in the last two.

K works the refs like no one I've ever seen. I love seeing him lose. It makes me happy.
March 4 is coming. We'll see what kind of yapping you do after that.
And seriously - the school that was the first 2 seed to lose to a 15 weed is gonna run his suck about UMBC? As if there is any meaningful distinction between a 15 and a 16.

Also, Terps didn’t help my blood pressure tonight by giving up an 19 Point halftime lead before coming back to to beat Wisc-y. But any B1G conference win is a good win.

18 point halftime lead (stupid fat fingers).
Terps! They needed that one before going to OSU and MSU. 99 out of 100 times Turgeon loses that game, but this time they got lucky. Defense was atrocious second half, refs called the game differently, and Wisconsin couldn't miss. But they held on and that's what counts, since I'm pretty sure Wisconsin will be on a winning streak and laying in wait for them in the rematch on Feb. 1.
Right now Fernando has to be double-teamed because he is unguardable 1-1 by 99% of college big men. He was destroying the infallible Ethan Happ until he got into foul trouble and Wisconsin went strictly double team on him.

I wouldn't be so sure. We suck.
This may be a hot take but I'm a little over the Ethan Happ era. The offense has to run through him when he's on the floor but it really hurts the floor spacing. He's also become a worse defender and rebounder since he exerts so much effort scoring.
so we'll take that win and get out of Dodge. Take it as a learning experience for a young team. Weird game. The last 5 minutes or so of the first half I don't think either team scored. MD had 1 FG the last 11 minutes or so of the game. The Badgers got ridiculously hot from 3 and that can turn a game around. Definately had to have this one with Ohio St and Mich St. looming on the road. Gotta give props to Cowan the guy has Melo Trimble like balls when the game is on the line. By the way the proud moment when you know despite anything other evidence you've brought your kids up right? My Son and daughter sitting there and being just as happy watching Duke lose as they were watching the Terps do well...

Not a hot take, he can't shoot and it stunts their offense. In addition, how are you still awful at free throws after 8 years in college?
By the way the proud moment when you know despite anything other evidence you've brought your kids up right? My Son and daughter sitting there and being just as happy watching Duke lose as they were watching the Terps do well...
When my now almost 4 year old grandson was about a year old I was doing animal sounds with him... cow says moo, dog says ruff, cat says meow, etc. To this day when he sees a turtle he says “Turtle says Duke Stinks”.
Best joke I've heard in years! 44-22 Hoos at the half. This team is fucking scary when they're clicking. No team in the country would be able to hang with them tonight.
but when DeAndre Hunter broke his hand earlier that week and was suddenly out for the tournament, it turned UVA into a 5-seed. They were essentially the 2017 team without a single player who could score inside and a lane clogged by two defensive-first big men. They also didn't have Jay Huff who is showing this season the game-changing dynamic he brings to spacing on the floor. He barely played last year, but I imagine Bennett puts him in the UMBC game when nothing was clicking offensively and we had a serious size advantage.
Still should have beaten UMBC without Hunter, but I never viewed a Hunter-less Virginia team as anything close to a 1-seed.
Doesn't matter now, though.
I'm just glad to see this team clicking. This is one of the best teams Bennett has ever had.
God knows I have no standing to criticizing Tony Bennett Â
But I'll never understand why he didn't try putting Huff out there against UMBC when we simply couldn't score and had nothing to lose by giving him a shot to give us offense.

I felt that way until I learned that Huff tore his labrum before the UMBC game and that's why he needed surgery in the offseason.
he tore it in practice the day before the UMBC game Â
I'm not sure why you quoted me or that statement. What smack talk did I say?
I posted that it sucked that we lost to UMBC and lost Hunter and Huff in the the days leading up to the game, and then I posted that I was happy to see this team clicking because I think it is one of the best teams Bennett has coached at UVA.
RE: RE: he tore it in practice the day before the UMBC game Â
They may have fake Swahili classes (though I reiterate and will never be swayed what K does, where 'students' at a top 10 national school don't even take spring exams freshman year is far worse -- at least unc and Kentucky are honest about what they are)...
But 3 national titles and 5 final 4s in 14 years..
Against 0 final 4's and 1 elite 8s in that timespan (lost to Syracuse which was blown the fuck out by UNC next round - thanks for that, was a relaxing night)...
I'd have thought this part of the season was boring and completely irrelevant to you by now. It would be to me. It's March or bust. I guess it's about goals and where our respective bars are set.

Honest about what they are?
Come on MAB. You don't really believe that do you?
Honest and UNC is a complete farce. In football too. The "University" and their approach to athletics is a clownshow.
Unc and Kentucky and even Kansas for that matter...
Admit they are about bringing in a great basketball team for their school. Don't care about graduation or grades. Don't try to pretend they are concerned about generating cfos and ceos
K on the other hand has 4-5 guys on a campus per year that will only be there for 7 months on a campus that otherwise tries to pretend it's an Ivy. I doubt they take a test. It's pathetic.

In the interests of honesty, can we agree that they're all dishonest then?
than Calipari is the only one who is. He openly uses the one and dones as a way to attract players and in unabashed about doing it.
Coach K still talks about developing the student-athlete, and Roy Williams does the cornball routine to act like he has no clue what is going on outside of his office doors.
The comments he made during the academic scandal weren't just laughable, they were likely outright lies.
That's just the hypocrisy of the coaches - it doesn't even get into the hypocrisy of the NCAA, where they'll put a program on probation and dock wins for having players work in jobs from boosters, but will turn a blind eye to actual academic fraud. They basically are saying there isn't any "student" in student-athlete either.
Absolutely, UVA will

Slow your roll. Even you can’t hate John Beilien.
We get them in JPJ later on - playing them twice this year for the first time in years.
I will say I do think they are the two best defensive teams in the nation.
Bennett hasn't shown an ability to get his boring team over the hump yet.
Slow down a bit? Pump the brakes?
Or just blindly charge forward and get obliterated. Your choice, my man.

Hahaha. Come on son.
Y'all made history.
18 point halftime lead (stupid fat fingers).

He gameplanned that game like he was Murray St. going up against Duke!

Having to deal with the Maryland and Tech grad cocksuckers I work with was dreadful.
I asked HR if I could fire members of my staff purely based on where they graduated from college. Unfortunately, that was a hard no.
