Redskins have no QB. They pick #15. Jaguars are through with Blake Bortles. They pick #7. Broncos have Case Keenum; who isn't thrilling the fans or John Elway at the present time. Broncos pick #10. I exclude 49s, Bucs and Lions and Cards. For whatever reason, there just is not enough justification or need at this point.
So the question is with Murray and Haskins available, presuming these two are the most coveted QB prospects, will any of these three teams move ahead of the Giants in Round #1?
My take is that both the Redskins and the Jaguars move up in front of the Giants. I can perceive the Cardinals, Raiders and/ or 49s trading down. Redskins are the most desperate. I do not see Foles going within the division; but who knows. I do not see anyone taking Stafford off of the Lions' hands. There is a possibility Foles may end up in Jacksonville, but I do not believe Coughlin would commit to a 31 year old veteran at this point. Can Foles be the difference to a Super Bowl? I do not think so. FWIW.
Bucs
Jags
Broncos
Bengals
Dolphins
Redskins
Steelers and Titans are wildcards. Steelers could look to take a QB if they see their next franchise QB in this draft, and I am no so sure the Titans are tied to Mariota
I'm not really worried about the Giants being jumped. If they want a QB bad enough do what you need to do to get him. If someone jumps us, take the BPA and move on.
With Jacksonville obviously needing a QB we might find ourselves in the perfect position to trade back with WASH, especially if one of Haskins/Murray is already gone.

That is a good list although it has been very public that the Bucs wanted a coach who can work with Winston so I think TB is unlikely but you never know.
It has also been rumored that the Jags want to trade for a QB so, if that is true, I see them landing someone like Foles or Flacco only if they can absorb the contract. Not sure they can.
Oakland is definitely a wildcard but ultimately I think they stick with Carr for another year at least. Here is my thinking. Gruden was bringing in older guys. The thought process for that was with limited time with the players he wanted guys who knew how to play the game already and not have to teach them basic stuff. Well, we all saw how that turned out. But after this shitshow of a year they definitely realized losing Mack was a bad move regardless of what they got for him. I think Gruden himself said pass rushers are hard to find to his team after they got rid of Mack. I think they stick with Carr and use that pick on a pass rusher. Maybe they use a later pick on a QB but Carr has a leg up in that complicated offense. No rookie QB is going to come in and work well with it just based off of Gruden's history.
Yes, but you'd have to account for someone else interested in the same player trading up above you. That's why those higher picks are worth more, less of a chance you're left without the player you moved up for.
Apparently Elway is enamored with Drew Lock. And he should be there at #10.
Washington, i think has to Draft a QB this draft.
Broncos, i think they will sit back and hope Daniel Jones makes it to them, maybe Murray.
I'm with you on wanting a stud for the D and hoping one or two teams trade up ahead of us for Haskins and another QB. That would leave us with a couple more top D guys available to pick from.
How is this even possible you ask?
Well I learned on BBI that you can always trade up in RD 1 to get the QB that you desire, because that's how the Eagles got Wentz.
So I'm just assuming that all of those teams will trade up and get the QB that they want too.
It is possible a really great player may drop into their lap.
Alternatively the Giants may chose to trade down to a team looking to acquire a QB. If they can obtain some additional picks along with a #1 for next year I would do that.
Flacco is another Eli Manning. Denver has Case Keenum. I do not believe an immobile Flacco is any better at this point. And I don't see Coughlin/Jacksonville going for Flacco either. Redskins? Maybe. But the fans would not like it. Generally, the league is moving to mobile QBs.

I could see him in Denver or Jacksonville

Redskins can't afford Flacco. They have to pay Smith that huge contract.
Skins. My Lord. QB hell. I don’t see them moving way up for a QB. I could see them sliding up a few slots, but nothing significant. They are absolutely drafting a QB in the first two rounds.
The Broncos. They are the biggest threat to jump which is good for the Giants.
think its shakes out
Foles to Miami
Tannehill to washington
Flacco to Jacksonville
Tyrod Taylor to Carolina
Bridgewater could be looking for way too much money bit he is a fall back for everyone if the pieces dont fall right
Hypothetically speaking though - if you're Gettleman talking to Shurmur, and he tells you that he thinks the team can be a winner with a swap of QBs, assuming the cost isn't prohibitive (let's say $5M over just sticking with Eli) - what do you do?

That seems like a haul and I would jump on it if it were ever available to me. You get a top 10 -12 player (subtracting out the QB's) this year plus an extra second. Then, you go with Eli who most here predict will lead us to a below average record next year. Washington will have growing pains and both the Eagles and Cowboys (and Giants) will push them downward, so next year's #1 will be pretty good. So with 2 number 1 picks in 2020 to package, and a draft rich in QB's, anyone of whom would likely rank above this year's crop, we would be golden.

Skins are on the hook to Smith for $41 million the next two years. They can’t invest even $15 million in Tannehill.

Denver and the Giants upgrading only through the draft. Miami and Jacksonville through trade of FA and Washington stuck to the most appealing affordable/reclmation FA plus a draft pick. Also sounds like Carolina needs a 1 year fall back option.

Dont see a huge market for Tannehill. he will be on a prove it deal. They can craft it so the hit is minimal. Remember they are short on cap space but the Skins will always have enough cash flow
Elway needs a QB, if he drafts one and he looks in anyway halfway decent it really doesn't matter what the record is next year. If he doesn't and the team struggles, legend or not he's out.
Sorry, but that's a ridiculous take.
You think the Giants should pay Eli his $5M bonus and his $20M contract next year just so that they don't tip their hand for the draft???
Eli is 38 yrs. old.
Whether the Giants keep Eli or let him go they could still be looking at a QB in RD 1.
And even if they signed a stop-gap QB they could still be looking at a QB in RD 1.
