This guy is such baby. He was posting about the rams Saturday night and how good there offense looked so I commented on his tweet and said: Paul. Do you see how Whitworth is dominating in this game better yet the last two seasons he’s dominated I’m glad Reese had no interest in him smh
and Paul’s response to me was this. Given small cap space and his age - it would not have been smart. Rams were also much closer to contending than Giants, who needed more than one OL...And if you think NYG are still a bit away - a 37 yr old LT not what is needed today, either...lmao.
My response was Are you losing your mind? How many people picked the Giants to win the division/go to the SB in 2017 before the season???? Stop making excuses because you work for the team. And that’s all it took for me to be blocked no wonder very little people comment to him. He blocks everybody the guy is a bitch
Some people.
Actually, I'm just kidding. I don't really care one way or the other.
But Dottino was right to block you. Nobody needs the aggravation.
You don't know if the Giants, Reese or anyone in the Giants organization reached out to him or not. All you know is that you didn't see it reported by a beat reporter or on ESPN, Twitter, etc etc.
Now that being said. Whitworth may have had ZERO interest in playing for the Giants.
Its amazing to me that people think that these NFL players dont take things into consideration like their families, where they want to live, their business ventures etc etc.. like these things arent important to them.
Just because your team didnt get a player you wanted doesnt mean it was the fault of the team ONLY.. because the PLAYER can choose to play wherever he wants to.

Very well said
It is possible to disagree and discuss without throwing a hissy fit like you did.
I agree in part but the whole admit thing is odd. I think they simply needed Flowers to workout so the team can move forward and it obviously didn’t. Benching or cutting flowers and signing an expensive, old LT wasn’t in the cards and I agree with that decision. Problem is there was no other solution which compounded it, and a coaching staff that couldnt get a single player to elevate their game.
And everyone agrees with the guy who blocked you.
Well, that must cap off your night.

Or countless other left tackles. When we were interested we wamted to convert LTs to RTs because that would admit he made a mistake with Flowers.

Doubling down was so dumb imo. You have to have competition especially for young guys. Let them earn something as opposed to being given something. There were more options than benching or releasing Flowers. I didn't agree with moving him to RT but that was an option. Also, LG could have been an option. Light a fire under his ass. One of two things would have happened. One, he rises to the occasion and now you salvaged your first round pick. Two, he bombs but at least you had a backup plan. It isn't like we were set along the OL and if we signed a LT that we made Flowers a backup. This is a big reason Reese is out of a job and still out of a job. It isn't how you run a team.

This.
The problem was Reese was too committed to his draft picks and had zero feel for putting together an OL.
He probably still has a job if he lands Whitworth and drafts Ramcyk despite all of his other terrible decisions.

Good call. Who follows Dottino?
Do people really suffer through the BBKL show btw?

They still run that show? I cant imagine how insufferable they have gotten on that awful show.
I gave up around 2014. Anita Marks is annoying as hell.

Reminds of people that would audition for American Idol saying they are the best singers and then after sounding like a screeching raccoon dying as roadkill, they act as if Simon was the Anti-Christ.
This visual completes my morning coffee.
Like everyone, he's not perfect. He's been wrong about some big topics but he does know his stuff and I do think he's pretty well plugged in for the most part.
If you go back to December of 2017 and listen to him describe the profile of the next head coach the Giants were going to hire, Pat Shurmur basically checks every box he mentioned. He's clearly not stabbing in the dark.
But the three of them seem pretty irritated when fans interact with them -- which is weird, no? They are literally forums to interact and there will be a sprinkling of idiots.
One of the prerequisites for a media professional is to always be above squabbling with the audience.
There's a ton of bad news coverage these days, but its an uphill battle due to the social media, IMO. That's why its pretty damn impressive when someone like Kim Jones comes along who's intelligent and has really great tact when it comes to dismissing stupid callers. I wish there were more like her.

I can't fathom John Mara is a fan of his employees getting into Twitter spats with dorky fans.
It's effortlessly avoidable.
He's a homer we all know that. Nothing wrong with that. I get sometimes it's just too over the top but you know that going in.
Francesa doesn't say much that makes sense but he said about Dottino with Paul everyday is sunshine it never rains. That sums it up.

when almost everything is about negative, its no wonder these guys get frustrated and block people. I'd like to think that if I was in their shoes I'd remain professional and not let the masses bother me. But i'm not perfect, and I can easily find myself getting frustrated at all of the overly aggressive comments made either due to stupidity or purposely to get a rise/reaction.

I don't disagree. But we are human, having a bad day is all it takes to reply to something you shouldn't. You've messed up at work before, no reason to think a beat writer can't.
Long story short, he isn't the one acting like a baby in your anecdote.
Who knows if Whitworth would have signed here or not, but it was definitely a mistake for Mr "We look at everybody" to not even try (if what he said was true).

The difference is I don't seek out a public channel to converse with my company's customers and then get snotty when I don't like how they react.
Like I said it's effortlessly avoidable. If you can't represent your company well in conversation with irritating people, just don't do it.
I get it, if I had people criticizing my company and ostensibly my work with stupid arguments that weren't based in fact, I'd spout off. Totally natural human reaction.
Being in PR, media relations, etc. takes a cool operator. It takes a serious pro. Most of us aren't good at it.
But I guess first you have to realize that a player peaking at his near 40s is an extreme outlier, not some common sense move that a GM should comfortably make.
