NFT: Universal Studios restaurant / evening activity question

buddyryansux10 : 1/17/2019 2:14 pm
Good Afternoon all. Myself, the wife and 11 year old daughter going to Universal studios for 3 days staying on property ( not renting a car ). Obviously the days will be busy, and we are going to see the Blue Man Group for one night, but is there a good dinner and/or entertainment venue that's good but also family (pre-teen) friendly? As always I appreciate any information given!
there is a pretty large variety of restaurants

at the entrance, I think they call it CityWalk. Off the top of my head, there's Bubba Gump's Seafood, Margaritaville, Italian. Emeril's used to be there, not sure if it is still.

the Bob Marley Restaurant. Its was good carribean food in a fun family freindly regge atmosphere.
We had a good experience at Mythos last spring break

of places all along international drive.

i think walking distances is a little outdoor mall with a Yard House, Shake Shack, arcade, and other chains, and a big ferris wheel, some shopping.

and Pointe Orlando might be walking distance, not sure, may need a cab/uber. It is from the convention center, not sure from Universal.

they have a lot of decent chain restaurants.

Maggiano's, Capital Grille, and a Del Frisco's across the street. also shopping and ice cream, etc. plus some bars like BB Kings, Lafayettes, etc..

It's like an outdoor mall.

Cowfish is my jam...

Also Finnegans is sweet in Universal.
A piece of advice about Universal.

If your budget allows, pay for the FastPass. It’s pricey, but you will save hours of waiting in lines.

He says he's staying on property. When we did that - stayed at Hard Rock - unlimited fast passes were included in our room rate. Was awesome.

But be forewarned ... most of their rides now are 3D, holy shit did I leave with a headache for a few days. Especially the transformers and Simpsons rides

the best are definitely toothsome and cowfish... both are really unique. Most of the hotels have good restaurants as well. The Hard Rock has The Kitchen which is excellent. As for entertainment, both parks have nightime shows and the one at Universal Studios is excellent. The nighttime show in Islands of Adventure is a projection show on Hogwarts castle. Don't forget about Volcano Bay which is an amazing water park. City Walk also has miniature golf (I think 2 courses) and a movie theater. There are also concerts that are free if you are there from Feb-Apr (don't remember what you said on when you were going) as part of their Mardi Gras event; it also includes a parade that you could get on a float for and throw beads.
CowFish, seconded.
