I give Woodson credit for standing in there and taking the hit and ultimately making the tackle. I mean, it absolutely set the tone for the game, but in -23 degree weather to stand in there and take a shot from BJ running downhill? That took some balls and there are few human beings on this planet who would thrust themselves in there and take that hit.
One of my favorite BJac plays along with:
- Landry trucking
- Wheel route for TD against Beagles
- TD and busting up scored against Cowturds
(in no particular order)

That Landry trucking effectively ended Landry's career. He never recovered psychologically and ended up addicted to steroids trying to bulk up so he'd never be trucked again.
“Seriously, I was out for a second after we made contact. Then I hit the ground and woke up. I remember being on the ground and one of my teammates was like, "Wood! Wood! You all right?!" I was shook -- really I was. I played the rest of the game, but I was out of it. That's a big regret for me, not going and hitting that guy low. That was a ROUGH day from then on out.” Link - ( New Window )

Sure but maybe he should have tried to go a bit lower? What was he thinking would happen lol
the only backfield duo that I liked more was Joe Morris and Maurice Carthon. They helped exorcise the ghosts of the 1970s Giants and made the run to the '86 super bowl a lot of fun.
Bizarre how Tiki Barber gets ghosted on this site... Â
Don't get me wrong, Giants have had many great and lovable backs in the modern era, Ron Johnson, Rob Carpenter, Morris, OJ Anderson, Dave Meggett and Rodney Hampton and of course Earth, Wind and Fire.
But the single greatest back the team has ever had - IMO the greatest offensive weapon the team has ever possessed (I expect Barkley to be even better) continually gets ignored because this one time he said something negative about Eli.
Another thing is the NFC Championship Game in the 2007 season. I was with the Packers and we were playing the New York Giants. It was early in the game and running back Brandon Jacobs got the ball. I'm on the edge and it's going to be my tackle to make. On any tackle, I'm always trying to go for the ball, and the biggest mistake I made that day was that I didn't go low and take his legs out. I went high and tried to slap at the ball, and he lowered his shoulder and knocked ... my ... ass ... out!

The entire article is linked below, but found it fascinating how that one play turned the game for both teams. Woodson was one of the Packer's top defensive playmakers that year, and having him at 50% the rest of the game due to that hit was big. link - ( New Window )
This is a classic Brandon Jacobs play. He does fucking truck Woodson ... and then falls down, getting maybe two or three yards as he falls forward after the hit. That's not nothing, but it's not much.
Then fans get excited about the hit but overlook the lack of yards after contact. The famous LaRon Landry hit was similar. He leveled Landry but didn't keep his feet, so he only gained a few yards as he stumbled and fell forward.
This is why I think Jacobs, as good as he was (and he was VERY good), is somewhat overrated by BBI. Compare him with backs like Barkley who are great at keeping their feet after a hit and can rack up huge YAC, and it's night and day.
So it doesn't count as a truck. You got run over the guy and keep going for it it to be a truck. Even though Woddson got the worst of it, he brought Jacobs down.
That being said.... he got fucking trucked.
A true "WTF just hit me?" moment.
Woodson didn't make another play, and the rest of the secondary was exposed.
It is the evidence to the classic argument that "you want to set the tome with the run game early....."

I can't even guess how many times I yelled "BeastShaw!" during his career.

Of course you have a point, but I was still able to appreciate the 80's & 90's wins during the 2000's

One of my favorite runs of all time.

Jacobs was a beast
Poor baby. Maybe you should root for the Jets or another team if you are such a downtrodden fan.
So many great moments, plays and performances over that 3+ hours...

Too bad we’ve had to recycle the same memories from 8 and 12 years ago over and over because our team hasnt given us anything else since.

Downtrodden? haha. Dont be dramatic.

It's bananas!
LMAO Football is so funny...
"Yay, that guy probably played with a minor concussion and put himself at risk for serious brain damage later in life. It was ***MaGiCaLLL*** "
That's what I remember most from that game. 13 targets, 11 catches for 151 yards. Plax was 40 percent of the offense.
He was unstoppable.
David Diehl: The tone was set on the opening play, when Brandon Jacobs ran over Charles Woodson.
Rich Seubert: Trucked over him.
Lawrence Tynes: He completely destroyed him.
Ryan Grant (Packers RB): For the rest of the game Charles Woodson was off. You could see it in his eyes.

demolished that game as Harris was by Plax.

Except for Coughlin's cheeks ... looked like frost bite
