Is everyone here rooting for KC to whup the Pats/

superspynyg : 1/18/2019 9:55 am
I hate the Pats. I hate all Boston teams (Red Sux, Celtics, even the Bruins. I hate Brady(but I love Belichick). I am tired of seeing them win. I want soooooo badly for KC to win this game.

Who else wants KC to win?

Who is rooting for the Pats?

I cant wait for both Brady and Bill to retire and the Pats fall into obscurity. Brady and Bill make that team great once they are gone the rest of the org will stumble and fall.

Well if it isn't "us against the world"

What erks me is the Pats playing up this whole underdog role
nyjuggernaut2 : 10:53 am : link : reply
as if they have never been there before. They've only made the AFC title game that last 8+ seasons. And it's not like KC is a 10pt favorite. They are -3 going into KC, which is basically a pick em game. They aren't the '07 Giants going up against an undefeated team, so let's cool it with the "us against the world" mentality they are trying to display.

it certainly is "us against BBI"!

When I was growing up, I was a Yankee fan.....and I couldn't understand why everyone hated them....yes, of course Boston fans hated them, but non Boston fans hated them to....so this "us against the world" mentality has existed for any team that has been successful....If BB became the HC of the Giants instead of the Pats, and had similar success, BBI would be in it's glory for the last 18 years....and everyone would hate the Giants....and yes, successful teams all have insufferable fans that gloat....it's human nature....

I'm rooting for the team...

Leaves to take over the Dolphins.

If KC wins, Reid gets the monkey off his back, Mahomes is looked upon as the next Goat, and a new dynasty is born.

That is why I will root for the Pats.

Just as long as we don't have to deal with back-to-back headaches because the Saints ended this year long nightmare, I'm fine with NE winning it all again.
the pats playing the underdog card is ridiculous

After Philly and Dallas got eliminated last week, I'm good with basically any of these teams winning.

NE at KC with the brutal weather is set-up to be a classic, hopefully the game delivers.
Despise the Pats.

Go Chiefs! They're definitely DUE.
Patriots
pjcas18 : 1/18/2019 12:04 pm : link
will steam roll the Chiefs, their secondary is brutal and Edelman is money in the playoffs.

The pass will open up the run as NE has made so famous over the Brady/Belichick era.

and the Pats defense will not be great, and will give up some yards and plays to Mahomes, but doesn't break.

Patriots 38, Chiefs 21.

1. Makes Giants and Eli look even better defeating them twice in super bowl
2. Gotta root for ex-Giant Bill Belichek who still bleeds blue and got us two super bowls.
3. I like Tom Brady - GOAT of qb's
4. Andy Reid is still and Eagle

With that said I wouldnt be upset if KC won considering their drought and great fan base and they play outdoors in the cold!!

I really don't get this line of thinking. Foles and the Eagles already defeated them, and plus that was only in the context of the Super Bowl. Peyton Manning's Broncos beat them twice in the AFC Championship Game. Flacco's Ravens beat them in the AFC Championship Game. Tom Brady lost to Mark Sanchez's Jets in the Divisional round for the love. Flacco beat him in the Wild Card round in 2010. Peyton Manning beat him in the AFCCG in '06 with the Colts. Jake Plummer beat him in the Divisional Round with the Broncos in '05.

If anything, this should show that Peyton has beaten Brady more in the postseason than Eli. Eli's championships will be a great legacy because they were tremendous games, the Giants were huge underdogs, and they took down the GOAT in the Super Bowl twice. That legacy is secure. It is not diminished one iota if the Chiefs win in the AFCCG this Sunday...Peyton's already done that to Brady three times, and even the Sanchize did it.

Brady has lost plenty of times in the playoffs. There is no good reason to root for the Patriots and you call yourself a Giants' fan. First, the only way those two Super Bowls get diminished is if Brady continues to make, and lose, more Super Bowls, if you follow that line of thinking. Further, do you REALLY want to see the Pats get a SIXTH Lombardi? Six Lombardis. Right now, they have ONE more than the Giants. The Giants can tie them in a few years. Why would you want them to increase their Super Bowl championship lead on the Giants?

I can't believe some of you guys.

Go Chiefs.
Absolutely rooting for the Chiefs

True that. So weird. Think about all the Massholes you guys have ever met. You STILL want the Patriots to win? It's disturbing to read this from Giants' fans, lol.

allstarjim : 1/18/2019 12:27 pm : link
The Patriots already have five Super Bowl Championships. If they win this year it will give them SIX.

Giants have four.

I've had to watch, the last two years, the FUCKING Eagles lift a Lombardi and the Brady and the Patriots win their 5th. That was bad enough. I'm hosting a Super Bowl party again this year and I want to enjoy the game for once.
What do you mean Super Bowl #5

When did I say wanted New England to win? I said I didn't give a shit.

Then again, we had people on this site all teary eyed last year because the Eagles it all for their childhood friend and one poster was even on the rag about me making fun of Kelce's speech. Haha.

I could see us getting annoyed if Philly went back-to-back or Dallas won it all this year but both are playoff dust, currently.

I posted this awhile back.....will history repeat itself? The last two times the Patriots lost an AFC Championship game, a strange thing happened.....in both seasons, the Pats controlled their destiny, by having home field advantage.....but in BOTH seasons, the Pats lost their second game against the Dolphins, and because of that, did not secured home field advantage throughout the playoffs.....that meant they had to play both championship games on the road in Denver.....in 2013, the Pats played Denver during the season, and won in OT at Foxboro....in 2015, they played again during the season, with Denver winning in OT in Denver.....so it was critical for BOTH teams to have home field advantage for that final game....and in both seasons, the lowly Dolphins gave that advantage to Denver.....

And what happened this year? The Pats beat KC in Foxboro during the season.....but once again, the Pats lost to the Dolphins, AGAIN! And because of that, they must play the game on the road in KC, instead of friendly Foxboro.....

Well done. The late season Dolphin Curse may be very costly again.

I have a feeling the Chiefs might roll the Pats. That place is going to be alive. And I wouldn't put it past them to pump in extra noise.

These are Jekyll and Hyde teams colliding. The Pats are great at home and ordinary on the road and the Chiefs D is significantly better at home and horrendous on the road.

Edge - Chiefs.

Yeah we all do. But the Giants are watching the game just like us and we were talking about the game this Sunday with Pats vs Chiefs...I guess that's why the confusion.

The only thing that is going to happen this weekend is that the Chiefs are going to get a shot at their 2nd Super Bowl and first since 1969 or will the Patriots have a shot at their 6th? I suppose I can get some indifference to the game but I'm pretty invested in the Chiefs packing the Patriots playoff bags.

Plus, as a Mets fan, with Mahomes being the kid of former Met pitcher Pat Mahomes, I like the kid.

Two rising teams play two of the established championship teams of the last decade. The contenders have both beaten the upstarts in the regular season, handing them painful defeats, casting doubts on their legitimacy.

Plus you have the guy who I believe is the next great QB in the next era, Mahomes, going against the GOAT.

This is going to be a riveting Sunday. My only regret is that the Giants aren't part of it.

But then again I live in MA and the Pats' fans get more arrogant and insufferable every year. The Chiefs are a fantastic young team, Mahomes is fun to watch and I have a lot of respect for Andy Reid, especially now that he's out of Philly. The Chiefs haven't won a title since 1970 and a match-up of them vs. either the Saints or Rams would be a fantastic Super Bowl as well. No brainer here: go Chiefs!

For me, it comes down to style of QB play that I enjoy watching.
Diver_Down : 1/19/2019 6:59 am : link
I much prefer a drop-back, pocket passer than the mobile athletic school-yard style of play. Hoping that BB schemes to confuse Patrick and negate the broken coverage-highlight plays. I think the best way to do that is force Mahomes to be a QB that he doesn't want to be and eliminate the lanes for him to escape. Spags called it a "Cage Rush" requiring the DE's to emphasize contain in their rush (instead of just being ridden around the arc of the pocket) and maintain lane discipline by the interior rush. Keep Patrick in the pocket and collapse it.

Patriots for the win in a great game.

I honestly believe the injury to DT Radkins also leaves the Saints vulnerable to a strong Rams ground game. Look for the Rams to run, run and run again.
