Good for Spags - glad he's got a new gig. He was always a mixed bag as a DC. When he had the horses, he was able to field some really awesome defenses.
But he also fielded some horrendous ones - including a couple here.
I like Bettcher and think when he's got a couple guys who can actually rush the passer, this defense will work much better.
It'll be interesting to see how he does under Andy Reid. He did great with TC (at the height of TC's powers), badly with Sean Payton, mixed results with McAdoo. Hard to tell what kind of environment suits Spags.
They pick 29. That's probably a pass rusher or a cover corner?
If i am KC I would spend all of my picks on defense. Their offense is set
Their secondary was the worst in football. A full year of Eric Berry and drafting a Byron Murphy would go a long way.
Their DL lead the league in sacks and Chris Jones has developed into the Aaron Donald of the AFC that no one talks about. But they still need to resign Dee Ford (yeah the lined up offsides fool) he's a budding talent that peaked at the right time registering 13.5 sacks this year
With the veteran leadership of Berry and Justin Houston Spags has A Lot to work with here. Good for him

He was with Reid in Philly as the linebacker coach.
I'll set it at 3.5 and take the under. Mostly because the offense will always be prolific and the defense will always be blamed if they don't win a SB. And that will be hard to do with NE in conference.
he often gets asked to do the impossible as he was asked to do in NO and STL. I hope that does not happen in KC, but I am happy for him that he got another job.

look with Mahomes and high scoring offense
Spags doesn't need a shutdown defense it can be more aggressive and opportunistic
When he has the players, he doesn't waste them -period.
There's a ton of DCs that can't be said of.
He's presided over 3 of the worst defenses historically in the NFL.
Love the guy, but I wonder if KC has a good enough secondary and pass rushers to run his scheme.
