Next stop is Canton.
1st ballot

easy, he was an awesome player.
I wonder..

what will happen in Carolina this year. There seems to be some panic setting in and Peppers retiring doesn't help.

There's legitimate chatter that Newton will miss the season. Davis is already gone, and Olsen may retire. They could really be in trouble
HOFer.

And pretty good on the court too.
One of my favorite trivia questions with friends

Who is the highest earning non QB in the history of the NFL?

Peppers!

Great career. Loved watching him play.

A supremely athletic goliath on the field. Fun the watch. Unquestioned HOF player
Texans should’ve picked him

Over David Carr
Amazing player

I actually remember him on the UNC basketball team. Must've been like 11. Haha

Hindsight. Plus they were an expansion team and needed a QB to build around.
Beginning the 2 year tank-a-thon

for Sunshine Lawrence.
Yeah. Wasn’t David Carr, at the time considered to
Big Blue '56 : 2/1/2019 10:38 am : link
be a franchise QB? If so, he had to be the pick. That’s what would have occurred in the last draft if there was a QB deemed a 10-15 year guy by the Giants, imo
He is a huge human

I was around college ball players, but when I met Peppers he was a whole other level of size.

So was Harrington
Peppers was actually teammates with Brendan Haywood at UNC
Anakim : 2/1/2019 11:31 am : link
And yeah, he kind of continued the trend after Jevon Kearse of ridiculously athletic and long DEs.
A few years later
BrianLeonard23 : 2/1/2019 11:44 am : link
people were going gaga over Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush and the Texans surprised everyone taking Mario Williams.

They needed to build around Carr but they never could. They got him Andre Johnson and that was about it.

If they wanted to tank, next year is the year to do it. They get a new QB and move on from Newton.
Great player...

and don't forget, Peppers started for the UNC basketball team. I think he may have gotten a long look in the NBA, too.

awesome player

Such a complete player as well. He's 4th all-time on the Sacks list, strong against the run, very good at batting balls at the LOS, and was surprisingly adept at dropping back in coverage.

He wasn't always dominant but he was consistently an impact player for a long time and a freak athlete in his prime.

Peppers vs. Strahan is an interesting debate imo. I'm guessing most non-Giants fans would probably give the nod to Peppers but it's really close imo.

It is. Ten years of double digit sacks by Peppers is very impressive. And he had 52 forced fumbles and 175 tackles for loss.
Thought we had his clone

after JPPs first year. What a waste and very sad. That first year JPP looked like Peppers reborn.
