Especially if he is BPA assuming the ERs are gone. Giants could use help everywhere although the DL seems to have decent talent on it.
If he's Fletcher Cox 2.0, I'd be happy, but he is one of the few that really can change the game in crunch time.
I often feel like the DT(or 5T) position is devalued because the Giants find talent there rds 2-4 quite often.
Is Williams that kind of game changer? Cartwheels for Williams at 6?
Greedy, Quinnen, or Jonah.
Greedy, Quinnen, or Jonah.
I don't se Jonah as a top 6, He is not going to be Nelson.
as for Williams...yep he would be a steal. HE is a top 3 player.

I want the BPA at #6 so long as the last name is Williams.

When it comes to Jonah, he is a technician. He needs to get stronger, but he doesn't have to learn how to play at the next level. He would be a Day 1 starter at RT and should be able to replace Solder in 2 years.
Greedy is a need as we won't have Jenkins but for another year.
Quinnen is definitely Top 3. Teams looking for QB will have to trade up to kick Quinnen down the line. I would be shocked if he is still available at #6.
If as expected there is an early focus on Edge rushers, I don't want us to pick the 4th highest rated Edge rusher if the #1 rated CB/OL is sitting there.
That would be ideal.
Then go best LB in #2.
Either true pass defending ILB or the DE/OLB.
SF has tons of talent like Williams, would they draft another?
I think the Jets would also shy away after Leonard Williams, Wilkerson. I think the Jets want an ER badly.
AZ take QUinnen #1?
I think OAK and TB with McCoy retiring likeliest places but I see one of those teams trading out to a bidder wanting to beat the Giants.
This is what Im saying, he'd have to be Cox 2.0 to justify this IMO. Is he?
I say, build great units.
If there's a top 3 or 4 overall DT playing next to Hill and Tomlinson (or Hill + x on pass rush downs), we become a unique team from day one.
See, Rams.
This class is not as strong as last years for sure but those 2 guys have upsides at least close to some of last years guys.
I think 4 is his floor. I have trouble seeing Mayock and Gruden passing on him if hes there.
Hopefully he matures.
Unfortunately, the edge rusher might not be there and I do think some of them are overrated.

At that point, take the consensus #1 CB or perhaps Devin White. Lord knows we could use either moving forward.
See thats the rub. Both DT and ILB, I think The Giants will have a shot at one of Williams and White. Good chance they are BPA. But are they difference makers because of the nature of their position.
He won't be there.

3-4 ILBs aren't really an impact position, although DG clearly favored it in trading for AO.

Also, factor in the cost of their potential second NFL contract, and they'd better be impact players. I'd look elsewhere and try to trade down.
Hopefully he matures.
This is the problem. He said the Clemson offense "was nothing special."
Will they shake hands and make up when we have them both on the Giants?
...every time I watch this man-child play I see the same two things:
(1) An amazing swim move -- sometimes a double or triple swim move -- that gets him into the backfield to fuck someone up big time;
(2) A guy who often pops straight up out of his stance when the ball is snapped, and while he gets away with it in college, I don't know if that will hurt him in the pros?
Like who?
You espoused the same "positional value" crap then as you are now (no disrespect intended) and called Watt "a 5-tech DT/DE that doesn't fit the Giants' 4-3 D." Turns out Watt would have made a great DT or DE in any forking scheme, and the Giants' hung out at wherever the picked (15?) and got Prince Amuka-fuck-amara.
I haven't looked at Williams film yet but sounds like he's the closest thing to JJ Watt since Watt, just a bad ass DL who's probably scheme diverse.
Screw "positional" value, because in that case we'd never have taken Saquon. Watt or Oliver strike me as likely great picks at 6 if DG doesn't buy in (or they're gone) to Haskins or Lock.
This team needs top talent everywhere except for another star skills player (not QB) or cornerback at pick #6.
Supposedly Oliver's get off is so sick it makes up for his smaller stature and he has unusual leverage game.
But...Q . ...by all means. And a host of DE and DT and LB lower down.
Multiple ability gives Betch a crazy ability and tool bag. Now you'd need some ilb that get it as well
