I was in college at the time and the Giants had the game wrapped up in the 4th quarter. I just sat there in the student lounge in a daze, grinning ear to ear.
My brother was in his last year at a college about 30 minutes away. We watched it in his apt. There was never a doubt we had to watch that game together. As it wound down we were staring at the TV in disbelief. I love a quote by Phil Simms in the '86 America's Game after they beat the Skins he said he thought "We're headed to the SB!, I always thought that was for other QB'S not me". Thats the way I felt. It was only for Cowboys /Raiders /Steelers fans to celebrate SB wins. Not us Giants fans.
I just sat and tried to absorb the moment. It was nice that with the big lead you had basically the whole 4th quarter to let it set in and enjoy it. Players came out of the game, even Elway at one point. So the celebration started early. Mostly it was a time of reflection for me.
Tempted to stay in NY to watch it with the home crowd. Instead, I flew home to Rochester to watch it with my Dad. It was his fault I was a Giants fan in the first place, so there really was no other option. RiffRaff joined us, and we had a blast. The victory was a long time coming.
I won $100 in the Office Score Box Pool -- the 2nd Quarter ended on such an odd number, but 0-9 paid off. I walked into work the next day wearing every stitch of Giants gear that I owned. When the guy running the pool came over and started peeling off twennies......I was grinning from ear to ear.
My family watched at our neighbors house. They had a son my age too. They had a fancy living room that kids were not usually allowed in. I have great memories of us jumping from couch to couch and screaming. I was hooked for life.
Was a freshman in college. Went home to watch the game with Â
my Mom and Dad and a few close friends that are Giants fans. My Dad was a lifelong Giants fan. We watched in amazement and celebrated only the way a father and son can. Not a lot of words, but tears and joy. A memory I will never forget. Then had to head back to school for class in the morning. I don’t even remember the drive back.
I was standing up on my bed in my hotel room and when it went wide right I pumped my fist up in the air and accidentally punched a hole in the ceiling.
USS Theodore Roosevelt for Desert Storm. Listened to the game on BBC because we couldn't get it any other way. It might have been more exciting just listening to the radio broadcast.
Half the people on this thread don't know whether it was
the Rose Bowl vs Denver or the wide right in Tampa.
Eric is referring to our first-ever Super Bowl win.
To answer the question - - - - I must admit I cried.
I was born after the first 2 Super Bowls had been won. Â
our host was a Korean War Vet and a great mentor to us. He was a Giants fan since the 30's and we drank Sake he brought home from Japan... great days.. Our dream had come true
College. Was just on cloud nine. I remember thinking at halftime we played like crap and are only down 1. That flurry of points in the 3rd and early 4th was reserved for other teams. Cowboys, raiders niners Steelers etc, not for my Giants. It was the greatest football feeling I had experienced up to that point. Everything worked. It was like a dream. My father called me when I arrived home and said can u believe the Giants are SB champs?
Stayed in Costa Mesa at the Giants hotel. Partied with old timers the night before the game, and the team after the game. Photos of me with Wellington, George Young, and a bunch of players.
After 23 years of futility, it was one of the best weekends of my life
At SUNY Albany n cried tears of joy the whole 4th qtr, but 2007 is still the best!!! I couldn’t believe after all those years of sucking we were going to win, but that’s not really true cuz after 4-17 in knee we would win!!!
(who had been pulled into enjoying FB and the Giants by me and a work buddy Paul and his wife Maggie, all great people and great die hard Gmen fans) I wrote a paean poem to that team "Paean to the '86 Giants" and shared it with my friend and founding editor of The Giants' Insider, Howard Livingston.
Howard was a great guy, his wife Lois was a great gal, and his football knowledge was through the roof among NY Gmen beat writers. Anyone who got to know him beyond FB truly loved the guy. He was an English professor at Pace University and a former CB on the Giants himself. He used to play tennis with Phil Simms.
When Howard said a low level draft pick or unheralded UFA could play, you paid attention. He had amazing inside stories on some players, like former
1st round pick OL Eric Moore, who was too dumb to learn the playbook. He wouldn't publish something like that but shared it privately. He was my surrogate father for football... passed away not too long ago. Sorrily I couldn't get to his funeral. Great guy, excellent friend.

I thought Howard used to claim he wasn't the same Howard Livingston who was the CB.
BTW, his "Inside Football" interviews with George Young were epic.
I was one of the best nights of my life. To share it with my father and brother after all of those years of futility. After all of the harassment we had taken from the Cowboy, Steelers, Dolphins, and Bills fans growing up to be able to say our NY Giants were Superbowl Champions was the most satisfying feeling I've ever felt. I just remember seeing my dad so happy. We screamed and yelled that the Giants were the Champs over and over, and hugged a lot. We were euphoric!!!

1) My dad telling me Simms looked really good in pre-game.
2) McConkey waving the towel and hitting one of the pylons with it.
3) A few very disappointed Broncos fans in the row in front of us.
Went to the airport on Thursday before the game during a blizzard WITHOUT game tickets. My flight was the first cancelled due to the storm. I was flying People's Express for those old enough to remember. I stayed at Newark the entire night and my friends(5 of us)bought tickets at the airport from fellow Giant fans who had kids with them and couldn't or didn't want to wait to see if they could fly out the next day. Bought the tickets for face value but now I had game tickets but no way of getting there as all the flights were booked until Sunday. A supervisor at People's Express told us that if we could find a flight out of Newark on any airline(times much different back then) that People's Express would pay for it (He gave us travel vouchers). We finally took an American Airline flight to Ft.Lauderdale just to get out of Newark. After hours of discussing our situation(The airlines said our vouchers weren't valid beyond one trip) with all the airlines we convinced United to fly us to Denver. Once we got to Denver, People's Express which added flights from Denver to Los Angeles because of the Broncos, flew us in. It was well worth it as Super Bowl 21 was one of the best days of my life.
Oh YEAH!
