Two being contributors and one last ommison not as big a deal IMO

I’d also suggest A couple of then OL who didn’t make it deserve entry
Ty law
Eli owns all : 2/2/2019 7:09 pm : link
And champ bailey while very good players I disagree. If that’s the bar then Eli is a shoe in.
Seeing these names

just makes me feel old.
About time for Gil Brandt.
robbieballs2003 : 2/2/2019 7:18 pm : link
Very happy he is alive to see that. The amount of history and knowledge he has about the sport is probably second to none right now.
Ty Law?

not so much...
Can someone explain to me how Tiki isn't getting in
SFGFNCGiantsFan : 2/2/2019 7:42 pm : link
When some of these dudes are? And I'm not even a Tiki fan.
Good for Mawae

Parcells said this week he felt Mawae's only peer was Dermotti Dawson, who is also in.

Uh, Ty Law was great. Better than Bailey.

Yeah guy that’s why I put Ty Law first. While good never thought either were hof.

Neither were as good as Dwight Stevenson imo.
Solid class

I could have a beef with Ty Law, but he was very good and had big #s

No for Boselli again?
KWALL2 : 2/2/2019 10:45 pm : link
Champ Bailey getting in doesn’t make the case for Eli easier. “While a very good player”? Sure, if your definition of “very good” is elite for a decade plus. He’s a no brainer.

I'm surprised by the comments about Bailey. He's an obvious choice imo. He was dominant for many years and multiple teams. Law is the one I question.
champ bailey
hassan : 2/2/2019 11:51 pm : link
was a top cb in league many years. could be considered a top4-5 defender for some of those. and no it says nothing about Eli.

Boselli? Not sure if serious but Boselli doesn't even remotely have a credible case. He was very good for a very short window.

Champ Bailey might be the most overrated player of the last 20 years. He was a very good player, a fringe HOF'er. He truly was great for a few years. But there were plenty of payers more deserving than him that didn't get in, like Faneca, which is stupefying.

Bailey played a long time. He was good to very good for most of that time, and elite for a few years. But he isn't, and wasn't, an all-time great CB. Moreso, he had an all-time great CB name.
Ed Reed and Tony were obvious

Champ is right there but he’s forever attached to Woodson in my mind. Woodson got the late legacy points but for most of their prime Champ was considered the better cover back.

Peak Revis is easily the best CB I’ve seen and imo Woodson beating him for DPOY was one of the great crimes I’ve seen committed by these self righteous voters. But for overall career, I think I might just go Champ over Woodson, it’s pretty damn close at the very least.
Boselli wasn’t just “very good”
KWALL2 : 2/3/2019 10:18 am : link
He dominated great players.

He was a HOF no brained but just didn’t have the years because of injuries.

Your comments about Bailey are equally off target. Great player. Could matchup with anybody. At his best one of the top guys at his position. And he has the years of excellent play.
Only a few possible explanations here

1. Too young
2. Didn’t watch him play
3. Don’t know what you’re seeing

Those are the only explanations for that comment.

Gil Brandt. Not only thinks Boselli is a HOF but he thinks he’s better than any HOF OT. He said he would take Boselli over all of them including Munoz. You don’t make that kind of comment about a guy who was only “very good”.

Munoz says he was one of the best ever because he dominated HOF players.

One of the best games an offensive player ever had in the playoffs was Boselli kicking Bruce Smith’s ass up and down the field. He did the same to great players like Derrick Thomas, Jason Taylor.

Phil Simms: “Tony Boselli dominated Derrick Thomas from start to finish. Tony Boselli was as dominating an offensive lineman that I have ever seen.”

HOF Walter Jones: “If Hall of Famers had a vote, I’d vote for him this year. If I was starting a team, I’d start with Tony. I know the other offensive linemen on the ballot. They were all great players, but I’d start with Tony.”

Ty Law was good
widmerseyebrow : 2/3/2019 11:13 am : link
And I wouldn't have a problem with him getting in eventually, but I'm not sure what the urgency was with some of the other players that were up for it. Atwater was/is a more deserving candidate for DBs. And I guess Boselli will always be knocked for the brevity of hia career.

Bailey was phenomenal. His first few years in Denver were some of the better years I've ever seen from a CB. I think he absolutely deserves to be in.

Bailey has the longevity and peak performance. He's a HoFer. No doubt about it.

I remember way back when the Redskins were using him on offense a little bit. I believe Sanders was actually on the team then too - it was probably 2000. They had a heck of a defensive backfield. Darrell Green was still playing at that point too. Some of the fastest guys to ever play CB in the NFL - even if Sanders and Green were at the end.
