That thought would've been so sweet had it been factual. Fucking Foles and the shitstain Eagles ruined that for us. This is the only thing pissing me off about the outcome of this season.
the mystique of Brady is dead... but as it is, Eli is still grouped in an exclusive club with Tom Petty/Napoleon Dynamite wearing a fucking Eagles jersey.
Also the Pats have beaten the Eagles in the super Bowl
Yet browns, lions, falcons, bills, jets, cardinals, titans,Texans fans only to name a few would be happy to win one super bowl and we won two against tom Brady
RE: RE: Also the Pats have beaten the Eagles in the super Bowl
even when this was true, no one outside of giants message boards talked about it. I've heard people mentioning it'd help Eli's HoF chances. I really don't think so. I don't think it has much significance, just a neat little anecdote.
Anyhow, it's amazing the Pats have won 6 Super Bowls, particularly in era where dynasties are dead. They really should be 3-6 instead of 6-3 though. They should have lost to the rams (1st game), seahawks, and falcons.
tired take that means nothing to anyone but Giants fans grasping at straws to stay relevant or add meaning to history.
Its not really meaningless and this take is made by pretty much every single fanbase. Not just Giants fans. Its a way of acknowledging how extraordinary what the Giants and Eli as the SBMVP accomplished
Eli didn't beat Brady, he took zero snaps on defense. The Giants
Are just a footnote in a 20 year Pats era of dominance. Theyve been to four Super Bowls and won three since the Giants knocked them off for the second time. We are old news.

Forgot about the Seahawks game. Worst play call in SB history.
Absolutely, they should be 3-6. Maybe 2-7, if the Carolina Panthers dickwad kicker kept it inbounds.
defenses for the two SB's were outstanding, they pressured and beat Brady up, they did things to him he was not use.
So Eli beat Bill Belichicks defenses. With everything on the line under three minutes to play. Twice. Whats the difference? Eli out dueled the greatness dynasty ever.

Yup, I've grown tired of these yearly threads about how once upon a time we beat the mighty Pats. Seems so long ago.
The much easier analysis without all the qualifiers and hoops is Brady has been to what 4 Super Bowls since 2011 and Manning has one zero playoff games.
Nick Foles did beat the Pats, he was fantastic. And the Seahawks and Falcons blew great chances as well.
The Giants palyed 2 great team games against the Pats and eeked both out, wonderful accomplishments.
Very happy for Manning, he played really well in both.

Beating BB and the Patriots twice in the SB (an 18-0 team no less), and a 2 time SB MVP is "just a neat little anecdote"?
I also wondered how the Patriots would fare if they had to go through our conference every year instead of starting every season 6-0 or 5-1 in the AFC East.
RE: So sad,7 seasons ago and the Giants havent won a playoff game since

He beat the Eagles in Super Bowl 39

Dear lord
Yea, cause that's what I said, JFC. I stated that being the only QB to beat the Patriots during their dynasty is an anecdote. Outside of this board it doesn't increase Eli's chances at the HoF nor does it lessen the legacy of the Pats. In the grand scheme of things he could have beaten any AFC and his chances would remain the same.

No it doesnt lessen the legacy of the Patriots but for that reason it most certainly improves his chances than if it had been any other AFC team(s). Can't believe you actually think that but you're entitled to your opinion.
But what does that also make Foles? See the issue there?
Fuck em. Theyre still trash.
You take it when you can... especially in Eli's case since he's such a polarizing figure.
Last year is gone. Different players.
Again!!!
And that makes all the difference.

Of the two teams to play them twice only one team swept them. The New York Giants with Eli Manning at QB.
3 teams. Same result
Totally forgot about the Rams.
Eli is 100% getting into the HoF. Anyone who doubts that hasnt noticed who has been inducted lately. Average.
Of course Ill always enjoy 18-1 and 2-0.

No issue. Has Foles played 50 NFL games yet?
See the point?

That doesn't make it any better
The farmer.
This is the right way to look at it. Eli did not play Brady. Now you might be able to say Eli beat a Bill B Defense twice.

I think it sorta does, Foles was a one hit wonder. A T-shirt, a movie of the week. He can't even hold an NFL QB job.
Meanwhile, Eli's done it twice while starting over 200 games and accumulating some pretty impressive stats.
that's putting it mildly...
He beat the Eagles in Super Bowl 39

For some reason, I am pretty good when it comes to Super Bowl Trivia!

Its annoying that people just say Eli won. The fucking team won. They held the patriots to 14 points.

Transitive property does not apply to sports.
Eli is Brady's But.
Frankly, I'm rooting for one more round, next year. :)
A great NY Giant and 2-time superbowl winning MVP who doesn't have to prove anything to anybody.

That about sums it up!!!!!
If 2018 Eli was a Ram, they wouldn't have been playing yesterday...
