Was this the worst Super Bowl ...ever?

Seahawks - Broncos froma few years ago. That game was over by half.

this post season, after the Dallas game. Seemed like there was some issue with his knee, same one that he injured during his last year in college.

Rams biggest issue was they had no plan or the wrong plan for Edelman.

Patterson is really one of the few wrs who has any speed to stretch the filed - but he's not made much noise as a receiver.

Bellichek is man among boys. Coughlin seemed to have cracked his code though

this wasn't a great defense like Bears or Ravens, but a great defensive plan. or at the least, a very good one.

that was probably worst super bowl ever. no team ever embarrased themselves like the Broncos did that night

I won't argue with you too much on this because it is certainly possible that the Pats' defense was so fundamentally sound that the Rams looked inept.

But I just didn't see a lot of "ooh" and "ahh" plays by the defense. I did see fundamentally sound run defense. I'd be curious to see what the longest running play was because it felt like the Rams never broke a run more than 5 yards (other than the one that called back due to holding).

That's why I though the run defense was the MVP.

And I hear you about the pass rush, but I thought it was on and off. I thought it was more about Goff being overwhelmed by the game. I have no idea what the Rams were trying to do.

On a sidenote, I felt that the Pats didn't call a good game offensively. They ran the ball well on the first drive, went away from it for much of the game, and when they went back to it, it worked like a charm again. Too much Brady in this game and it almost cost them.

I predict Belichick will say this game was the hardest coached Super Bowl he's been a part of, and that both he and Mcvay respected eachother so much it made them conservative.

Seemed like the balls were dunked in oil. Even Brady had trouble putting balls cleanly on short crosses. Goff couldn’t handle the big stage on top of slicks footballs.

I hear you. I just was pretty impressed by the fact that - the rollout was negated. and when he passed from the pocket, Goff kept getting hit.

I will have to rewatch it a couple of times.

Patriots did run the ball well early and at the end of the game when it counter, but that might have been due to Rams DL being gassed.

This game felt like week 5 game in 1997.

but easily the most boring I can remember watching. It was a certainty that Goff was not going to beat the Patriots. We could all see that after the first drive. He just seemed totally out of his depth.

Unfortunately our very own Giants in SB35 was WAY worse than this game which was tight through most of 4 quarters. We just got our asses kicked pretty much from the start.

Think about the types of games you can have. A shootout involves two offenses playing great. Yes, you can also have really bad defense. But a bad offense isn't going to take enough advantage of a bad defense to make it a shootout.

A blowout, at least, involves one offense playing well.

A defensive domination involved at least one defense, or both, really standing out to stifle the opposing offense. You can point to a few select players on defensive who really had a great game. I don't have that tonight. Sure, Aaron Donald was able to make Brady a little uncomfortable back there, but the Rams still only managed one sack. Sure, Gilmore had a few nice pass deflections, and had the interception at the end, but that was more the QB putting up a duck.

Finally, the MVP. Edelman had a nice game. 10 catches, 141 yards. But on the Patriots' two scoring drives, Edelman had 3 catches for 41. Most of his performance was wasted.

The true MVP was Jared Goff tonight. Because is the Rams had a QB who at least played average, then the Rams are holding up the Lombardi trophy.

There were many worse. Just worst one in a long time.

Good game.

Don't forget possible P.I. in end zone could easily have put the ball down there for Rams, changing the outcome.

NFL got what they deserved though, after screwing New Orleans out of going to the Superbowl.

Trench play. Brilliant D. Great game lots of lessons for us.

could hear the pads and they were getting smacked and the refs let the teams play for the most part. it was a very well officiated game.

i really liked seeing old fashioned bang em up football.

to be decided. The war in the trenches was pretty good and the QBs were clearly effected by some imposing players/getting hit.

If Cooks hangs onto that perfectly thrown ball and the game goes 10-10 with 4 minutes to go it rises up the rankings alot.

Fairly sure some of you wouldn't be happy even if you could lay out how you wanted the game to go...

that through 3 quarters 42 was as boring as this one.

Of course the 4th quarter of 42 goes down as one of the most exciting, if not the most exciting 4th quarter in SB history.

game over the 90s NFC blowouts and it's not even close.

People make sarcastic comments whenever there's a 38-34 high profile game about how the NFL has changed and no one plays defense. These wern't exactly shitty offenses yesterday who exchanged futility. I like a defensive battle where any score could be game changing.

If you watch that play carefully, Gilmore, who is trailing, makes a great play by subtlety grabbing Cook’s left forearm. I think that did enough to spoil the catch...

as was the other one knocked down in back of end zone. I thought Goff was late in getting a few throws out and this was one of them.

I will amend...not perfectly throw but good enough to be a TD if Cook gets his hands up.

Rams receivers left a few plays out there despite the great play by the Pats secondary...
